"White privilege" is a fiction. One can't be part of an 80% majority and have privilege. Privilege is something that few have and most do not. Be that as it may, there IS privilege in being black in this country. So here's a partial list of some of the aspects of black privilege...
1. Having a world of lowered requirements for things ranging from college admissions to government grants and hiring, and even? to privae sector hiring. If you're black, you have lower hurdles to clear.
2. There are people like Tim Wise and millions who think like him who will blame any failure on? the part of black people on white people.
3. You can call yourself a thug, blurt out stupid comments onto a recording, and be hailed as an urban prophet.
4. You have a VERY small chance of being victimized in crime by a person of another race.
5. If you ever are, despite its rarity, it will likely make national news and be portrayed as the norm.

Dr. Novakaine

None of this could possibly have to have anything to do with being discriminated against for the entire history of the country, now, could it?

Also from YouTube (paraphrase) you can't break someone legs 5 min before a race and tuen claim the race is fair because you haven't broken his legs in the last 5 mins.

To be fair, if you remove point 4 and 5, then only points 1, 2 and 3 are stupid!

When African Americans are able to go to good private universities(not shitty State schools with ampatheatres for classrooms) for free on government money without Mickey Mouse bullshit 2,000 dollar scholarships that everyone else gets anyways, get back to me. The only things educated African Americans are entitled to are being looked at strange by lard assed, peon rent-a-cops with only a fraction of the education they have, being the first ones fired and the last ones hired and having to play the role as the docile white-man's dog, lest they make themselves the scary "black buck".

Now if you think that sucks, imagine if a African American has the average level of education as everyone else in the country does (only highschool or some college). You see how shitty it gets then. Most of these whiny white dudes don't even know that white women are the biggest beneficiaries of Affirmative Action(http://www.apa.org/pubinfo/affirmaction.html).

...never did any of that calling himself a thug, blurting stupid comments or trying to get himself hailed as an urban prophet.

What? He did? Musta been his "black privilege".

Your entire post has just showed your white privilege, by your willful ignorance of the reality that so many African-Americans face. Congratulations for shooting yourself in the foot.

Following your logic, the Phelps are the priviledged ones in this country. Come on!, don't use statistics and distort facts to your convenience.

You can argue about the definition of privilege all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that white people are generally given more of a chance in life than blacks. You'd have to be an idiot (which you are) to not be able to recognize that life is harder on blacks than whites.

"Privilege" can extend to majorities as well. Ever heard of "tyranny of the majority?"

No?

Well, it's a thorn in the side of many democracies, aspiring or otherwise. It is probably the biggest problem with democracy (and there are not many problems with it). Fortunately, there are ways to alleviate it. Many democracies have combatted tyranny of the majority with many methods and varying results.

Notably, one of these methods is used in the USA. It has proven meritable in assuring women's rights and minority rights (albeit due to racist fucks the latter has not been as successful as it could have been). Do you know what it is?

Affirmative action. Yes, that is correct.
