"proclaiming the Word of God" = putting one's personal opinion into the mouth of a deity. It's the ultimate appeal to authority (a type of logical fallacy), if ever there was one.
EDIT: I said "authority" because yes I do think that a certain amount of religiousness and piety is evolutionarily hardwired into our brains. Thus, religion is an instinct, of sorts.
But then, I think not all instincts should be acted out in public ;-) and certainly not endorsed by the state.

Hate speech against a group (chargable only for violence or inciting violence) is a hate-crime.
