(From a news story about a 7 year old with brain cancer who's been told that he's a superhero battling his archenemy)
I wish the story could have mentioned how Dominic has met Christ, the most important part of the story. I am sure it wasnt the family that kept it out. Thanks.

What a creep! This kid's dying, and instead of encouraging him, John wants to tell him he's going to hell? That's really, really, fucked up.
Of course,,, Jesus so loves the little children that he gives a seven year old brain cancer. How loving is the lord. What do these child abusing bible thumpers tell little Dominic about that? What about his parents?
These people are so disgusting they make me sick.
No, the most important part of the story is how, even though his life is in serious danger during the middle of his childhood, he still has the courage to hope that he will overcome. That, and how we all need to pitch in to cancer research centers so kids this young don't have to die of cancer.
Most of that comment thread was absolutely disgusting. Not once was any religious message even mentioned in passing, perhaps because it was FUCKING IRRELEVENT to the story, and these sanctimonious bastards pounced all over that.
This was not a story about religion, it was about a man doing an honorable and beautiful thing to help a strong child cope and inspire others.
John_11, you and others like you who can not control your selfish compulsion to inject your silly superstitions into the lives of others sicken me. Try to learn a little self control, you ignorant, self-righteous fuckwit.
"I wish the story could have mentioned how Dominic has met Christ, the most important part of the story. I am sure it wasnt the family that kept it out. Thanks."
It doesn't say it because, even to a 7 year old, being a superhero is more plausible than your Christ.
Meeting Christ isn't that newsworthy. There's a guy who occasionally roams the E train who claims to have met him many times. Apparently Christ is fairly tolerant of people who don't bathe.
BTW, if the kid met Christ, why didn't Christ cure his brain cancer while he was there? Is he waiting until the kid is dead three days, so he can show off by bringing him back to life like Lazarus?
A child at the age of seven battling brain cancer...yet they have to pitch a line for Jeebus. Talk about a douchebag. DIAF
(It might be a good thing this poor kid's dying, if his family is like John, he would go through a life of misery and brainwashing)
WTF are you saying this kid lucky to be dieing, because he going to meet with fucking Jesus .
Your sick . were is your compassion, your humanity your empathy .Oh oh I said the E word . .
I forgot "empathy" is now evil concept a satanic idea . Why is empathy now bad simple democrats support it.
And Rep. Alan Grayson is right, the Republican health care plan is simple :
"Don't get sick - If you do get sick - die quickly!"
Too bad this kid was born in the wrong country and is getting shitty, if any health care. He and his family would have been so much better off if they had not been American citizens but coming from a country with UHC.
I wish the story could have mentioned how Dominic has met Christ
But how do you know this, John_11?! Do you know this kid personally? If not, then please STFU.
I am sure it wasnt the family that kept it out.
Even if the Baltimore Sun deliberately failed to mention any connection between Jesus and this family, it's not persecution as you're implying but rather their editorial perogative not to tread in shark-infested waters (ie. controversy).

Agreed, empathy is now evil, as are protecting the environment and loving your neighbor as yourself.
Apparently, when Jesus comes back he'll descend from the heavens in a Ford F-150 pickup -- with monster-truck tires and a glass pack so it's loud as hell -- with a deer rifle on the gun rack in the rear window. He will be chewing tobaccer, and his blond hair will be flowing, setting off his deep blue eyes. Upon the truck reaching the ground he will start driving over Muslims and liberals and people who volunteer on Earth Day and at soup kitchens, because those latter two are evil wastes of time that could better be spent typing hateful shit on the Internet.
So while everyone else is hoping this kid will recover and live a long healthy life, all you care about is that he accepts Jesus before he dies?
I bet you're actually HOPING he dies, aren't you?
What do you care?
He's 7 years old.
The Age of Accountability, according to you Fundies, is 8 years old.
If you die before the Age of Accountability, you're supposed to get a free pass into Heaven.
(He'd better hope he doesn't make it to his 8th birthday in that case, though!)
This is the danger of fundamentalism to the world, they make people believe it is not their power to change the world or their own lives, and in fact, while they say they're giving hope, they're really taking it away.
Exhibit A: Why The World Is Screwed Up
How can you say such a thing? This boy is fighting to fucking LIVE, and you're telling him it's better to die?? If it were you, or your own child, you'd beg for any treatment that would prolong life! Don't lie, your kind always pull that shit - trumpet about how it's all in God's hands, but when push comes to shove, you become a sniveling baby who doesn't want to die, even if it means putting your family deep in debt.
You disgust me beyond words.
@raindrops
"And what? Tell the boy that he will die because of his sin? Leave the boy wondering what he ever did that deserve to have brain cancer?
Why is it that god did not give you a brain cancer instead?"
Well, that would require John_11 to have a brain, which I'm not sure he does seeing as he clearly manages to live and post on the web without a heart...
25 years ago, the godmother of my youngest brother lost her son to brain cancer when he was about the same age as Dominic, and it utterly devastated her. I hope that oncology progressed enough since then to save Dominic, and that his family can afford the treatment.
Shut up. Shut up NOW. My cousin Alice got brain cancer aged TWO, barely survived that, then got LEUKEMIA from the chemo, and survived that. All before she was five years old. If this had been Alice (she was unbaptised at the time) they were on about, I would have slaughtered these vultures. To even call them vultures is insulting. I want to kill these people, but that's too good for them. I believe in Purgatory, not Hell, but I'll make an exception for these sick, sick... things.
Confused?
