Martin Luther King eh?
That leads me to suspect that JesusFreak also believes thatMartin Luther, the founder of Lutheranism (which very probably is the person JesusFreak really means) wasn´t a german, but an american ;)

No, but I knew Martin Luther had already long since made up his mind that day and merely announced the fact by nailing his theses on a church door in Wittenberg, Germany. 95 theses. That's a lot of premeditation, don't you think?
And I'm pretty sure Halloween was celebrated before that. And for some reason, Churches wanted to still call it "all hallows eve" instead of "the day when the German provocateur vandalised a church door".
Please learn to distinguish between Martins. Martin Luther was the one who wanted to kill all the Jews when they (amazingly) rejected his new Christianity just as they had rejected the old one.
Martin Luther King, Jr., wasn't.
...but Halloween existed as Samhain way before that.
And I didn't know about the Martin Luther thing either. Thanks for that piece of history, people!
How to celebrate halloween:
1) go to butcher, get some pigs eyes
2) coat them in chocolate
3) wait for the little fuckers to knock on your door
I'm pretty sure that Halloween existed long before MLK. And I don't think he was ever Catholic.
Ahh, you mean Martin Luther? I'm pretty sure that Halloween didn't just come along to take over that date. IIRC pagans had been celebrating the date for centuries.
"Do u know that on October 31 is when MArtin Luther king changed from beeing catholic and became reborn in Christ."
Wrong Luther, moron.
"But of course that day has been replaced by Halloween and nobody relizes that."
The traditions of Halloween long predate Luther.

And this, children, is what happens when you allow yourself to be, as we call it, 'hoemskuled'. As in not having a proper education, unlike you are having here & now. The kind of thing you get when you have stupid parents who still believe in 'invisible friends'.
Now let's all point and laugh at the silly little boy who doesn't know his history - unlike you who do - as he wallows in the pit of his own FAIL, who'll only be able to work at McDonald's, Burger King etc, while you go on to be lawyers, doctors, scientists...
...and history scholars and professors.
Halloween is an American holiday, not celebrated around the world.
And Martin Luther King did not live in Germany n the 1500's, but I'm sure you are homeskuled so...
Samhain , iirc.
Humskulled.
1. Thats Martin Luther, not the same person as Martin Luther King (who also isn't the same person as Martin Luther King JR)
2. Not sure on this one, but I think Halloween predates that. Besides, its not like it would make a very important holiday.
By the way, this person is such a dolt that he doesn't know the difference between MARTIN LUTHER, the historical founder of Protestantism and Rev. Martin Luther KING, the Civil Rights activist.
Except for Germany where, you know, Martin Luther lived back in the 1960s. Here the protestants celebrate October 31 as "Reformationstag" ("Tag" means "day", I'll leave the rest untranslated). Or so I'm told, I never actually noticed it, trditionally spending the better part of Halloween getting drunk in an Irish Pub.
lol, that's some concentrated fail.
1)it's Martin Luther, not MLK you're thinking of
2)Halloween (Samhain) predates Martin Luther and Christianity as a whole by centuries, since it's an ancient pagan holiday.
3)So does All Saints Day, and thus All Saint's Eve AKA All Hallows Eve, what with it being an old Catholic holiday
Oh god....this reminds me of 10th grade European History class.
Teacher: So in 15whatever Martin Luther posted his 95 theses blah blah blah
Dumbass Kid: Wait... are you talking about Martin Luther King?
Halloween (or All Hallows Eve) has been around for centuries...
And there is a definite difference between Martin Luther King and Martin Luther. Martin Luther King was the father of a celebrated civil rights activist. Martin Luther was an anti-semite who was alive long long before Martin Luther King.
Just thought i'd point that out.
We've secretly replaced the day when Martin Luther changed from being catholic and became reborn in Christ with Halloween. Will anyone tell the difference?
...As you can see, 99.999999% of our testers preferred Halloween to the day when Martin Luther changed from being catholic and became reborn in Christ. Halloween, in stores now! Best served on October 31st.
Yeah it's not like Halloween has Pagan roots or anything.
Oh wait, Martin Luther KING? Don't confuse one of my heroes with an anti-semite!
holy sonofabitch. you fail at history. and theology.
at Halloween is the modern incarnation of All Hallows Eve and Samhein, pagan holidays when the veil between this world and the spirit world is thinnest.
Oh my. Where to begin.
Forgiving your obvious confusion between Martin Luther and the father of Martin Luther King Jr., the posting of the 95 theses was NOT an act of protest. It was an invitation to debate, primarily about the subject of selling indulgences. When he posted the theses, and for several years afterwards, Luther considered himself a loyal Catholic.
The event has never, to my knowledge, been celebrated as a holiday anywhere, and thus to suggest that it was "replaced" by Halloween is an absurdity of Philip-Georgeesque proportions.
Confused?
