I really don't understand the "Don't ask Don't Tell" policy
Doesn't the word of the Lord already contain a policy about all Gays and Lesbians:
I think it is called "Don't Be Don't Do"!

It goes like this:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"
so unless you have a secular argument against gays, you lose.
But "Don't ask, don't tell" (despite being a rather flawed compromise, but let's not get into that), is much better than "Don't be, don't do!" It not only covers the situations where gays "don't do", but also situations where they actually "do but don't tell anyone"! As for "don't be", they can't change they way they are, so that's moot.

Sorry, can't help you there. It's four very common one-syllable words. We can't really dumb it down any more.
"Don't be, don't do" is an amazing policy.
Is this the advice you would have given to black people 50 years ago?
"Don't Be Don't Do"
dooby dooby dooo
And fuck your lord. It is not mine. I don't care what it
thinks, because its a miserable, egotistical, cruel bastard
that does not deserve worship
(if it even exists).
Yeah! You stick to your perceived rules, and the rest of us will stick to ours. Is that OK with you?
In other words - Your god does not dictate my life!

It was placed there because a lot of gay and lesbian servicemembers were being booted out of the military for being gay or lesbian and that lowered our troop levels. The DADT policy was a comprimise between the gay and lesbian activists and Christian conservatives on who can serve the military.
Yes, the Bible does make a rule against homosexual activity , but it also makes a bunch of other rules in the Old Testament that we, both straight and gay, do not follow.
Anyway, since you're talking about how gays and lesbians shouldn't be in the military, how about you come with me into this military recruiting station here so an upstanding person such as yourself can join?

Hey, where did cocopea90452 go?

That only applies to gay men. Apparently, even desert dwellers of a few thousand years ago appreciated hot lesbian action.
Not to mention that your Wholly Babble doesn't say, "Don't Be, Don't Do" it says you're supposed to put them to death. Congratulations, you now have a one-way ticked to the fiery depths of hell for having changed the message of your precious book. It mentions this quite clearly in the section you apparently haven't gotten around to reading yet despite worshiping the thing.

Yeah, 'cause that was so effective.
Also, doesn't the Word of the Lord contain policies on everything from slavery to the wearing of gold and pearls by women? Do you follow all of those, too? Didn't think so.
"Don't Be Don't Do"!
Blast! Nathan the Wise already got there before me. Ermmmm...

No, some bronze age Arab goat herder and a sexually dysfunctional pecksniffer from Tarsus said something about homosexual practices among men. The Lord, on the other hand, has been remarkably silent on this or any other subject.

Seriously, the word of this god says that it is omnipotent and omniscient, etc. So, if this god of yours didn't like gays and lesbians, then they simply wouldn't have existed in the first place. After all, if this god is so powerful, then its preferences would become reality, right?
I really don't understand the "God said it, I believe it, that settles it!" policy, either.
Let's change it to "Shut up, Shut up, Shut up!"

Interestingly enough the Christian church has a similar policy relating to life: Don't think--don't question.
Actually, I'm pretty sure the word of the Lord contains a policy more along the lines of, "Hey humanity, I love each and every one of you." Maybe you should read it sometime, it's a decent book.
You THINK? You're making demands on other people to change themselves in the name of your religion and you're not even sure, you just THINK?
I think YOU should get off Rapture Ready and try actually READING your Bible.
Confused?
