"Say the bible was taken away, then no law against murder, stealing, raping or slapping people who mocks the bible in the face."
Such laws predate your Bible by a good while anyway so your Bible has no relevance.
"No, can't see that we will be better off.
This guy should come to Africa to experience life without morals.(Some bad areas here)."
According to the World Book Encyclopedia, Africa is 40% Christian thanks to a few centuries of missionaries converting the "poor heathens" either forcefully or through coercion such as "convert and we'll feed you" tactics.
In other words, your argument is more detrimental to yourself than you realize.
"The fools cannot understand that morality has pretty much always been the result of religion. Without it, societies have been horribly brutal."
Really? What about the Aztecs, Maya and other cultures whose religions ruled supreme and yet committed such acts as human sacrifice?
Aside from that, your country has a secular government and seems to do quite well.
"Christianity in particular contributed vastly to Western Civilization."
Yes. To its decline. It was called the Dark Ages. If you stupid fuckers hadn't burned every library and book you could get your hands on save the Bible the human species may have been much further along than we are now.
Thanks a lot.
"There probably wouldn't have been Western Civilization without it."
There wouldn't have been a Western Civilization without the Greeks, or the Romans who stole most of it from the Greeks and passed it down with some contributions of their own. Oddly enough, the Roman empire went to hell shortly after taking up Christianity as its state religion.
And here's something that'll blow your little fundy mind. If it wasn't for the Arabic scholars (i.e., Muslims, for any fundy that happens to see this and can't see my point) preserving and translating Greek and Roman texts into Arabic we wouldn't even be where we are now because, as I mentioned, your Christian ancestors would rather have burned scrolls and books than read them.
