[Is Europe full of atheists?]
I dnt think that is accurate. Europe usually is a Catholic Country, from what I studied in Middle & High school.

Lets mark this statement like a teacher.
Dnt is NOT how you spell don't
Europe is not a country
'usually'? does Europe change from and to Catholism?
Studied? No, you didn't
Four problems in one sentence... is that a record?
You should have studied harder. Now, if you don't mind, these are curly fries, and I ordered regular fries.
[Europe usually is a Catholic Country, from what I studied in Middle & High school.]
It would appear that you didn't study hard enough. Europe isn't a country.
Europe is not a country! It is a couple of countries that share the same continent, at least that is what American's usually asociate with Europe. And also, "studied" is a little harsh word used in this context.
Ahhh...
hoam skoold, I see.
Catholic?
The UK is mostly non-practicing anglican, the Dutch fought a war against catholic spain to be protestant, the christians in Scandinavia are mostly protestant as well, though the majority is not religious.
"I dnt think"
Leave it at that, mkay?
I can't bring myself to look. Please tell me this wasn't the highest rated answer.
That being said, I don't see how this qualifies for FSTDT. Its ignorant, but not especially obnoxious or fundamentalist.
This reminds me of when, before my sister and I became estranged, she said after graduating from our Catholic high school she wanted to "Go to Africa and see the Amazonian tribes." As well as getting into the fact that Europe is a continent instead of a country, not all Europe is Catholic.
@ SleepNeed
... my sister ... wanted to "Go to Africa and see the Amazonian tribes."
Well, when I was 12 I wanted to go to Rome and see the Grand Canyon, and I have.
And speaking of geography fail, didn't Bush think one of our states was a foreign country? Other than the Republic of Texas, I mean.
I believe Olivejesus must have gone to the same school as Ms. Teen South Carolina
Just as dumb, typical American problem.
A) Europe is not a country.
B) Italy is certainly heavily Catholic, and the largest Christian presence in mainland Europe is indeed Catholic, but atheism is spreading like wildfire.
C) You obviously didn't study in Middle and High school.
Reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker once. We had some customers from Italy in the shop once, and after they left, she turned to me and said, "Were is Italy? Is it anywhere near Europe?"
She never heard the end of that one.
Europe is a country, and we speak French here.
Re: Philbert: Vermont was once independent too, for 14 years, for sufficiently flexible values of "independent".
@Osiris on the first page
Now now, I went to American public school and I'm not stupid or bat shit crazy. Don't go around generalizing now.
Europe is not a country, and I think most European countries except for Spain, Italy, Portugal and France are more Protestant then Catholic.
Europe is not Not NOT a country you ignoramus! Your studies must have been pathetic. Europe is a continent.
On a recent trip to the south of Germany from where I live in the south of France, I passed through Italy and Austria - all countries. On the way back I passed through Switzerland. Another country. And they are all in Europe.
Sheeeehzh! And these people think America is a superpower? Not if they ever take control.
However, to the kernel of the matter: Europe has Christian, but they tend to be reasonable, nice people, not screaming fundamentalists who are out to set up a theocracy. Nor would they be allowed to by the equally nice and reasonable atheists and agnostics, who in any event outnumber them heavily.
Europe's a country, Africa's a country, Bush was president of the world.
We really need to start doing more testing.
"Europe usually is a Catholic Country, from what I studied in Middle & High school."
Not for nothing do the following statistics gain more & more credibility:
7% of Americans can't point out their own country on a world map.
20% of Americans believe the sun goes around the Earth.
40% of American kids can name all 150 Pokemon, but can't name 15 countries and their capital cities.
And the cherry on the statistical cake:
80% of Americans believe in God.
Says it all, really. I've said it before, but it bears repeating: Americentricism. It should be illegal.
The hell? What sort of teacher and textbooks did you have?
@ Anon-e-moose: Those statistics scare me. WTF happened between the time I left middle school and now? It's not just No Child Left Behind, surely.
There is something deeply wrong with our educational system. (I presume that OliveJesus is American . . . though I suppose I'm secretly hoping she's Australian or South African or from New Zealand.)
Okay, I know that there are people here that come from countries where this sort of ignorance isn't as common as it is in America. So we must be doing something wrong. Deeply, deeply wrong.
How do you get out of high school and be so jaw-droppingly ignorant? It shouldn't be possible.
I dnt think that is accurate. [that europe is full of atheists] Europe usually is a Catholic Country
Well, ignoring the blatant error that Europe is a continent, and NOT a country, I'd like to mention that for the german capital Berlin a new catholic archbishop was appointed just these days. This is one of the toughest positions a catholic archbishop can get in the world, in a city where around 70% of people have no religious affiliation at all, and a city with one of the most active gay scenes in the world, governed by an openly gay major.
Yep, Europe is full of atheists, "OliveJesus". Deal with it. And Europe a very good place to live.

Geography clearly not on your school's curriculum eh, OliveJesus?

QED.
The UK has a 99% literacy rate. So does North Korea. Even Cuba's is higher (99.8%).
Which is why I'm not shocked at the thought that China (95% literacy rate) is set to overtake the US in scientific R&D in just two years. The US should be, though. One word: Texas.
Hey! Europe is not a country, stupid!
Sure, Europe is the second smallest continent, but we have almost twice as many nations, and 20 percent more people, than North America does.
Some countries are Catholics, yes, but some are Protestant, some are Muslim and some are mostly non-religious.
My part of the "Catholic Country of Europe" hasn't been Catholic for about 500 years. Nowadays we're mostly non-religious and secular.
About 2 % of the Swedes are Catholic, and almost all of them are immigrants.
Confused?
