If a 15 year old boy goes into a doctor's office saying "I want to get the girls, I need muscles, can you prescribe steroids?" the doctor would say "that's not good for you, go to the gym instead." But if a 15 year old girl goes to a doctor and says. "I want to get the guys, can you give me the pill (steroids)" The doctor says "fine." If you ask me, this is part of society's systematic abuse of women.

Okay, so, I've been on birth control for years and years. I can carry heavy bags or move the sofa, but that's about it. Where are those steroid-muscles you promised? Hmm, maybe I should have gone on the pill when I was 15. Everyone used condoms those days...

Okay, now you've lost me. I suppose there was some internal logic here, but I just don't get it.

Neither are PCOS, endometriosis, adenomyosis, menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea (which I happen to suffer from) and unwanted pregnancy. It really burns my beans when people assume that girls get on the Pill because they want to have lots of high-risk sex. Most simply want more control over their cycles and/or fertility.

I admit, in the early days of the Pill, blood clots were a problem. Nowadays, blood clots are very rare, unless you have risk factors, which doctors check for before they prescribe. Also, damaged sex organs? Where did that come from?

I love the equivocation between anabolic steroids and the hormones in the pill.
It's kind of like saying vinegar and hydrogen cyanide are identical since they're both acids.

OK, lets throw around a bit of ridicule, insults, dumbass names, and that makes it, um, objectively correct?

Lets take a deep breath and a careful think about it..

The pill isn't steroids , you say?
It's hormones?
What do you base this information on?
Your own misunderstandings regarding basic biology?

Let us look at a basic definition of STEROID: and I quote from a simple Dictionary.com definition..

"STEROID: (noun) any of a large group of fat-soluble organic compounds, as the sterols, bile acids, and SEX HORMONES, (emphasis added) most of which have specific physiological action."

Some people, Swede, have the restraint not to call others a "dumbass" when they have shown themselves to have said something wrong.
