"The polls mean nothing. You’re forgetting one thing we have NEVER lost a battle against the homosexual agenda at the ballot. Maine will be no different. In California, proposition 8 was losing at the polls until it WON by an overwhelming majority. The armies of G-d will triumph again Tuesday."
Don't exactly keep up on current events do ya, pal?:

Now, what was that about 'we have NEVER lost a battle against the homosexual agenda', and 'The armies of G-d will triumph again Tuesday', hmmmmmmm?!
The Rule of Law proves itself superior to your so-called 'God', and his fundie bumboys. Who was it who overturned Prop 8 in California (thus the precedent set)? Judge Vaughn R. Walker :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaughn_R._Walker
(emphasis added):
'Walker was originally nominated to the bench by Ronald Reagan in 1987. However, this nomination stalled in the Senate Judiciary Committee because of controversy over his representation of the United States Olympic Committee in a lawsuit that prohibited the use of the title "Gay Olympics". Two dozen House Democrats, led by Rep. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, opposed his nomination because of his perceived "insensitivity" to gays and the poor'
'On September 7, 1989, Walker was re-nominated by President George H. W. Bush to the seat on the federal district court'
So, just as Judge John E. Jones III who decided for the plaintiffs in Kitzmiller versus Dover in 2005 (thus making 'Intelligent Design', and therefore the teaching of Creationism illegal & unconstitutional in all US schools), personally appointed to the Federal bench by George Dumbya Bush, ultimately voted in -twice - by the Religious Right, thus the Religious right are responsible for destroying the educational agenda of the Religious Right (and advancing the cause of their sworn enemy: US Atheists), a judge appointed by the Religious Right's previous poster boy (and by the daddy of his little war criminal Dumbya) has advanced the cause of the 'Homosexual Agenda' in ways that not even USA's myriad Gay Rights groups could've imagined. As with Kitzmiller vs. Dover, the Religious Right continue to destroy themselves, via their own blindness - especially in their forward thinking - caused by their insane adherence to their 'faith', and thus the bigotry generated as a result of such.
Especially when you consider that, in view of the above facts, the Religious Right should keep in mind Romans 13:1-7. Remember, fundies: Raygun & Bush I appointed Judge Walker, just as Dumbya appointed Judge Jones. By criticising the decisions of these judges, you criticise the policies of the presidents you voted for. Therefore you're going to Hell. Enjoy your paradox, fundies.
Another loop added to the perpetual P.R. traincrash that is right-wing Fundamentalist Christianity in the US.
I love the smell of Hubris in the morning. Smells like... victory.
@SleepNeed
"We are going to win the war someday and all 50 states (or 51 or whatever if more get added) will allow same sex marriage.
You will never win against human rights."
See above. As an ancient Chinese proverb says: 'Evil must have Good to feed upon. And then, destroys itself.'
"I'll give you that my friends and I lost the battle for Maine and are disappointed. But know this we aren't broken."
Like I say, Judge Walker's overturning of Prop. 8 has set the precedent. As that article on Reuters.com I linked to says:
'Legal scholars said the decision has wide implications for nearly 40 states with similar laws on their books, making it more difficult to defend those measures in court on the basis of moral grounds or social tradition.'
Gentlemen, ladies (and both!) as well as those like me who are straight and Pro-LGBT, we are winning.
Feels good to be superior to the Religious Right, eh? But then we have every right to be. The Rule of Law is superior to a Theocratic Dictatorship.
