[Re: Referendum 71 to expand domestic partnership rights in WA state]

You know, after going through this last year in CA. I must admit, I still cannot comprehend how we ever got to a place in time-- that people have to vote to keep what is normal, real, right, legal and having existed since God ordained it.

Boy, after the Rapture, I can only imagine, people will be going to the polls to vote if first degree murder can be legal....because everyone is committing it anyway....

Ban prayer from schools= ok
Abortion= ok
Homosexual partners and marriages= ok
Cold blooded murder = pending

Do y'all see the pattern?

Anyone can pray in school.

Abortion sucks, but change the laws if you want to end it.

Homosexual people should have the same rights as you. This is America, after all.

Please cite and reference your information about the future legality of cold-blooded murder. As soon as this becomes ok, I have hundreds of christ-stains with which I need to settle scores.

Okay, I can kind of see the abortion thing falling under this theory. Banning prayer from schools? More like banning forced christianity in schools. And you can't compare consentual homosexuality where noone's rights are violated to cold blooded murder where one's rights are actually being violated.

Personally I think it's rediculous we have to put certain couples' equal legal rights up for vote just because you don't happen to agree with them. That's the real tyranny.

"Do y'all see the Pattern?"
"Y'all?"
The word "Y'all", is NOT in any english dictionary that I can find.
Y'all mus be frum da south.[sic.Ha ha!]
Now then, after you learn proper english
you [not y'all] should study a lot of history
so you can LEARN how we got to a place and time
such as this.

"You know, after going through this last year in CA. I must admit, I still cannot comprehend how we ever got to a place in time-- that people have to vote to keep what is normal, real, right, legal and having existed since God ordained it."

People like you said the same thing about interracial marriage prior to 1967 when the Supreme Court ruled that you're all a bunch of fucking morons. Of course, they said it in a bunch of legalese.

"Boy, after the Rapture, I can only imagine, people will be going to the polls to vote if first degree murder can be legal....because everyone is committing it anyway...."

You could always go Rapture yourself off the nearest tall building and leave the rest of us alone.

So far you guys aren't airborne so please shut the hell up.

Yep, JCDI...I'm frum da south and use the term ya'll. Doesn't mean we cannot read and write. You have a nice evening, ya heyah? And when Southerners say Come back to see us we really don't mean it.

11/14/2009 7:01:15 PM

uh no there is not pattern in there at all you stupid fuck.

But I do agree we shouldn't have to vote to keep what is normal, real, right and legal, homosexuals should be able to marry who they love just like everyone else, and we shouldn't have to vote on that. Just like we didn't have to vote for woman and blacks to have equal rights, and how we didn't have to vote for interracial marriage.

11/14/2009 7:08:36 PM

Wehpudicabok

God does not get to vote. This is not a theocracy.

11/14/2009 7:14:36 PM

Thejebusfire

Well, the bible says that murder is okay as long as the person is different than you.

"(...) that people have to vote to keep what is normal, real, right, legal and having existed since God ordained it."

Ah. You refer, I believe, to marriage. So, God "ordained marriage", eh?

<Ace Ventura voice> Re-HEE-HEE-hee-HEEEALLY?? </Ace Ventura voice>

I'll pass on the retort about "traditional marriage" actually being between one man and as many women as he can support, because that's for a different tired old fundie sound-bite. Instead, see if your feeble mind can chew on this a while: if your God ordained marriage, why is it that the Christian Church never saw fit to get into the marriage business until the year 1310.

Yep, it's true, cocopea. Before then, the Christian Church actually stayed away from the institution of marriage, deeming it to be too worldly for them to partake.

Besides, your panicked rush to "vote to keep what is normal, etc." will ultimately amount to nothing, for civil rights aren't--and shouldn't be--subject to the vote of the majority whim of a mob.

"Ban prayer from schools= ok"

If it's so damned important to you that your kids pray every morning, then make the time to have a family prayer before they go to school each day.

"Abortion= ok"

A necessary evil. No one likes it, but sometimes it has to be done, and needs to be done safely, legally and PRIVATELY.

"Homosexual partners and marriages= ok"

Absolutely, especially after seeing one of my best childhood friends get screwed out of nearly everything she owned after her partner died.

"Cold blooded murder = pending"

Don't be such a goddamned drama queen.

Old Viking

Explain again, please. If gays can marry, that somehow deprives you of keeping ""what is normal, real, right, legal and having existed since God ordained it?" How?

Robbie

I find it alarming that you think I should be seeing a pattern, here.

11/14/2009 7:41:32 PM

Thinking Allowed

Ban prayer from schools= ok
This is fail number one. Silent prayer by students on their own is ok. School led prayer in public schools is not.

Abortion= ok
Where have you been since the early 70s? If we outlaw abortion, the only thing that will happen is it will drive women to back alleys or countries that do have abortion legal.

Homosexual partners and marriages= ok
Five states have legalized same-sex marriage: Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and New Hampshire (legal beginning in January of 2010). In all five cases this has been through legislation or court ruling. More states will soon follow. I will be glad that one day it will be a normal thing in this country. Other countries have legal same-sex marriages and their doing fine, if not better than the U.S.

Cold blooded murder = pending

Citation needed please.

Gay marriage is "normal, real, right" if you're gay. It should be "legal" too, and I hope it soon will be.

But I just have to ask: is "cocopea" the correct term for your brain size?

11/14/2009 8:49:57 PM

Caustic Gnostic

Your slobbering idiot of a god demands perpetual tribal warfare. The universal concept of modern civilization condemns this behavior. As soon as all you wannabe 'tornado riders' finally put your money where your mouths are, common sense will have a better chance.

Doubting Thomas

And I'm sure if murder were legalized, cocopea9052 would be at the top of someone's hit list. Heck he should be just for furthering the "it's illegal to pray in school" bullshit that Christians keep spreading around.

11/14/2009 8:58:10 PM

Reverend Jeremiah

I see a pattern that you erroniously equivocate non-violent consentual practices between adults with violent non-consentual practices.

Perhaps I should follow your lead and equate a Christian praying in private with a terrorist cutting off someones head.. it fits your profile requirements of equivocation just as easily.

"I still cannot comprehend how we ever got to a place in time"

It's called bigotry, and it's your fault.

"Ban prayer from schools= ok
Abortion= ok
Homosexual partners and marriages= ok
Cold blooded murder = pending"

Well, prayer isn't banned from schools, forced prayer is. You rely on emotional appeals rather than facts to try to convince people abortion is murder. Gay marriage -should- be ok... they're people too. And no, murder is NOT ok and never will be.

11/14/2009 9:24:57 PM

ConCat

I don't see the pattern, no.

11/14/2009 9:43:27 PM

GodotIsWaiting4U

Except prayer hasn't been banned from schools. All that's been banned is group prayers led by state employees.

As for abortion, that's pretty heavily regulated and rather discouraged as it stands. It's also entirely voluntary.

Homosexual marriage really doesn't matter if one isn't gay. I don't get how you people fail to see this.
