I doubt that "liberal enablers" think they would be afforded any special treatment under Sharia law. They're just trying to uphold our own laws and principles.

Actually, it's been proven, by interviews with prisoners, that your sainted George Bush's torture policy was one of the primary reasons many of them joined up to fight us, and those in charge of the actual interrogations have testified before Congress that torture only served to make the prisoners STOP "surrendering information".

I am not an idiot. I am well aware of the treatment I would recieve in a muslim theocracy, and yes, it's the sort of thing I would prefer to avoid. While I recognize that practices like imprisonment without trial, torture and corporal punishment of prisoners, and a criminal justice system based on prejudice and bigotry are bad, I don't see the connection between that recognition, and the conclusion that we should adopt those practices ourselves. Yes, you put yourself at a disadvantage by holding yourself to a higher standard of behaviour, but if you fail to do so, then you are fighting on the wrong side. As long as you are going to advocate the use of terrorist tactics, why don't you join the terrorists?

You can't make people "surrender information" by beating the fuck out of them. Sure they'll tell you something, but the chances of it being true or useful is pretty slim. So you just end up sacrificing the honor and dignity of your country for nothing.
