Yet the symbol of the most peaceful Man to ever walk the face of the Earth is not allowed to adorn a license plate?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Somehow I don't think they'd object to a licence plate honoring Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

First, props to dpareja. Second, yes, there is something wrong here, and it's the bit about confederate flags.

Actually, the cross was an instrument of torture and execution.
They don't do put a guillotine or the electric chair on license plates, do they?

So, by upholding the First Amendment's ban on establishment of religion, Christians are being persecuted?
How much you wanna bet that if there was a South Carolina license plate saying "Allah Akbar" these people would be going apoplectic and trying like hell to get them banned?

How come I never hear of people who have those Calvin praying at a cross stickers being forced to take them down. Even if they are obvious copyright infringement.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34
He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Luke 22:36

Buy a bumper sticker already. Yes, we have freedom of speech, but non-establishment of religion is listed before even that.

Another believer in the myth of Christian persecution. What these turds REALLY want is the RIGHT to persecute non-fundies.

I don't have a problem if a christian can get a cross and stained glass license plate from the state. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
So long as your neighbor can get his plate with a crescent on it, and your other neighbor can get hers with the star of david, and the couple down the street can get theirs with a pentagram. Also, the folks over there with the ravens for Odin, and their friends with the FSM plates, and the plates depicting Zeus, and the ones showing...
You know what would be easier than having thousands of possibly unique religious plates?
Let's just keep the state out of it. Put a bumper sticker on your car.
And if you get pulled over and given a ticket just because you have "Jesus Saves" printed across your rear end, call the ACLU. They'll help you with that.

Let’s see, if we read the bible then we learn that Jesus physically assaulted people, stole other people property, denounced his mother and family, and told others to denounce their families, and will cast you into a lake of fire if you do not worship at his feet…yep he sounds so peaceful to me!

Nobody told you you can't have bumper stickers and signs all over you car saying whatever you want, you just can't put religion on something that's government issued.
So much for you being persecuted.
You'd be screaming your head off if the Muslims wanted state-issued plates.

Do you know who allegedly said that? Did you think he brought it to chop up tomatoes for his twelve buddies' dinner?

I love the way Jesus is suddenly demoted to being only a man (albeit 'the most peaceful man etc etc - yeah right!), when it suits him. He's saying, "I'm not looking for RELIGION to be on the plate, oh no, just a MAN."

I think it's a bad idea to do in the first place, but it raises money for the state, so as long as every religion gets one.
See, you can buy plates with your favorite sports team, but generally that's the only team in the state, or one of a mere few.
Why don't you just obey Jesus and stop flaunting your faith to everyone? Darn you, Paul.

"the symbol of the most peaceful Man to ever walk the face of the Earth"
Let's look at what the cross actually symbolizes, shall we?
Crucifixion was a common method of capital punishment in the first-century Roman Empire. So the cross is a symbol of bloody, violent death that often took days.
Constantine took the cross as his mascot and proceeded to rename Byzantium after himself and spread Christianity by the sword. So the cross is a symbol of forced conversion and warfare.
The Knights Templar all wore the cross on their armor as they butchered Saracens during the Crusades, filling the streets of Damascus and Jerusalem with blood. The Templars didn't just attack soldiers, but cut down absolutely every Muslim they could find before being killed themselves. (They still lost, by the way.) So the cross is a symbol of total war against innocent men, women, and children who dared move into Jesus's neighborhood.
Yeah, not seeing the whole "symbol of peace" thing.
