Quote# 67780

[In regards to a South Carolina judge's decision to ban the "I Believe" license plate featuring a cross and stained glass.]

So the persecution of Christians continues. Even in the nation that proclaims itself to be that of "freedom of speech".

It is quite ok, and no one listens to the discrimination complaints, on those who have Florida Seminole picture plates or Atlanta Braves plates or Cleveland Indians plates or any of the other many and sundry of plates that depict the American Indian in a negative light. Not to mention those who have plates that bear the Confederate flag, yes bet most of you God haters outside of Alabama, Georgia, Lousiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North & South Carolina, Tennesee & Virginia didn't know that they all have that option! Probably don't care either!

Yet the symbol of the most peaceful Man to ever walk the face of the Earth is not allowed to adorn a license plate?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Something is radically wrong here!!!!!!!!

It's just a fucking license plate. Get over it.

You have to use a bumper sticker instead of a license plate? The persecution is unceasing! Oh the humanity!

the only thing wrong I can think of is it took 2000 years.

I saw something similar parked in my Boston neighborhood. A car from South Carolina with the words, "In God we trust" on the plate. A lawsuit waiting to happen.

I don't think such a suit will get very far as long as the state court can point to the big federal boys' precedent of using the same phrase on all our money.

I fucking hate these southern (baptist? eh?) fundy morons trying to make the rest of us southerners look as ignorant, stupid, bigoted, and uncultured as they are. You fucking, idiot, redneck bitches don't own everything south of the Mason Dixon Line, shut the fuck up and choke on some grits already!

Bible Belt my ass.

I wouldn't mind a cross. Of course, that's because I'm into BDSM...www.crucified-women.com hehehe...

I don't know anything about this banning issue. It seems wrong if other things are allowed.*
But I have another issue: the symbol of the "most peaceful Man to ever walk the face of the Earth", that is the torture device on which he died. That is rather repulsive.
Why not the breads and fishes he shared with thousands of people, or the feets of the begars that he washed, or the crib in which he was born?

So, every single one in those nine states is a God Lover, and all the rest of the world are God Haters? Good to know.

*Edit. I do agree, if religious symbols are not allowed on government property, then you can't have crosses on licence plates. The easiest sollution is to allow nothing but the number on the plates. Then everyone is equal - no persecution.

He realizes Maryland was a Union State, right?

And once again "Persecution" means "the government isn't giving us absolutely everything and anything we want."
