No, there is no evidence that aliens are visiting Earth, and there's no evidence that angels or demons exist.
And be careful what you call a "cult," because the Catholic religion is the largest Christian religion in the world.

Aliens are probably better off landing in apartheid South Africa then Louisiana.

"And be careful what you call a "cult," because the Catholic religion is the largest Christian religion in the world."
I'm sorry. It's a cult, albeit the largest cult in the world.

ohhh good grief the idiots are over here now, and a times reader at that? Once upon a time the Times would only post letters that where intellectual and made sense, it looks like their standards have slipped
on behalf of my fellow britons, mr Q get off of my island, before i personally throw you off the white cliffs of Dover. Its not that i dislike you but we as a nation need our national IQ to be raised back to normal levels, and if i did'nt her maj would have me locked up in the tower for treason!

You do realize that an article about angels isn't based on interviews with them or anything, right?

Someone actually believes that? Damn it, humanity is doomed to stay alone in space. I mean, who would want to come to visit us?

Is it fair to say that, since 19 angels can dance on the head of a pin (as proven by the wizards of UU), 5 or 6 of them are fallen?
I'm just curious.

That whole discussion is epic lulz. This is 2009 - hell, it's nearly 2010 - and people still believe this. Maybe we aren't the alamazing intelligent species we proclaim ourselves to be.

Let's count the crazy beliefs!
- Belief that we've been visited by aliens
- Belief that aliens are demons
- Belief that Catholicism isn't Christianity
- Belief that preaching religion on a news site will ever actually win converts
@Brenz: Woah, did that seriously get written?

""Aliens" as the article calls them are deceiving you as to their origin. They are merely the fallen 1/3 of all angels, cast down from heaven along with Lucifer. As such, there fate is already sealed. No amount of "religion" being preached at them by the cult of Catholicism will "save" them."
You appear to have been abducted and the aliens have stolen your brain and replaced it with rocks.

While I believe that there are alien civilizations out there, I don't not think that they are "fallen angels" demons or what have you. If aliens have a nefarious plan or want to take over this planet they would probably have done so already given that their technology is more than likely far more advanced than ours are.

And this would be why I'm a bit scared of the prospect of receiving a signal from an alien civilization. The day after it's announced everyone and their priest will be preaching at them.

I found the original article, intresting, if somewhat unlikely...
(A delegate at the recent British Interplanetry Society's (BIS for short) Project Icarus symposium argued by contrast, at present, Humanity might be the only Intelligent Civilisation in the Galaxy...).
