Man, you must be possessed non-stop then, because where your brain should be there is only a billboard that reads \"This Space For Rent\".

Oh, good grief, and this person's handle is \"psycmajor\"? I pity the patients who get treated by this person if he/she becomes a therapist!

Yes and scientologists warn against psychiatrists because they could actually fix their problems and they'd lose a member.

Churches are afraid that if people start to think, they will start to question.

Since he/she/it seems to have no mind to empty, psycmajor is quite safe

An empty mind makes you vulnerable to lots of things....think about it....draw the conclusion...

Actually:only you churchgoers get possessed, the rest of us, never.
And I'd rather have an empty mind then one full of superstitious crap. It's called reality, at least give it a shot

I have been told that emptying your mind opens you up and makes you vulnerable to demonic influence.
Bit late for that.

The Duelist
As a Buddhist, I can tell you from personal experience that opening your mind brings peace and compassion. On the other hand, if you mindlessly give your self to delusion, then you will reflect that choice. This is an argument used against Buddhism many times over by intolerant Christians claiming that meditation opens you to the devil. See, they call themselves "slaves of Christ", which just about sums it up.
It is truly sad when people prefer bondage over liberation...
