I really think that a lot of atheists don't just 'not believe' in God but that they hate him. They are of the evil one though they probably don't know it.

Tell me this then, Katy, how can one hate something that is only a figment of the imagination of a small group of bronze-age, camel-defiling goat-herders?
I don't believe in gods.
I don't believe in the God that Christians describe.
If they did exist, I would not care about most gods.
If it did exist, the God that Christians describe would be detestable. His followers act as further testament to this.
This quite a bit different from hating something instead of simply not believing in it.

The more I comment here in FSTDT - certainly in these instances - and reading between the lines in the Bible, I suspect I've discovered the actual 'Truth' (as fundies are wont to say) of the Bible: that Satan is actually the good guy in all of this, and it's the likes of Ruptured Retards who are the ones with the ultra-shiny mirrors when they come out with their bullshit.
Subconsciously, Katyneverwill once & her fundie ilk probably know this, but like the whole 'specialness' of being a Raptard circlejerker.
i dont hate god.
to my knowledge, god has never once interfered in my life. i have not a single reason to hate OR worship him.
I DO, however, hate the fundies who shove their religion in your face, and when you dont respond to that, call you evil, immoral, amoral, a demon, despicable, and a myriad of a thousand other names. this isnt to say that i hate christians in general.
fundies are their own worst enemies. the only effect they have had on me as far as a conversion goes, is to make me hate both them, and christian theology with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns.
Not really....alot of Atheists dont beleive in the Juedo-Christian god for the same reason the Judeo-Christians (especially the fundies like Ruckmanites and Jack Hyles disciples) dont believe in the gods of Islam, JW and Mormonism...No hard evidence from Archeology to prove it's most important stories as history like the Exodus.
No, it's the things that are done (or would be done, given the chance) in the name of god that make me sick to my stomach. God himself I cannot hate, for the same reason that I cannot hate unicorns and flying pink giraffes.
Which god are you talking about?
The Greek gods seem like spoiled children. The Norse gods have an obsession with violence that strikes me as absurd. The Egyptian gods were too fractious to get anything done.
Oh, you mean the god of the bible. Okay, which one? The god of the OT demands we follow vague and impractical laws, many of which involve killing animals. The god of Matthew is basically the OT god with a coat of whitewash. The god of Luke seems to be okay, but his willingness to blow off his "chosen people" for not following his impossible expectations is concerning. The god of John is incredibly tedious with his endless "I am" statements. Or did you mean the god of Paul?
Help me out here Katydid278, which god am I supposedly hating?
so wait... I hate it, and don't believe in it... so I act against something that I don't believe in?
how the fuck does that make any sense?
Some will question the ethics of deities and may object to the worship of war gods, etc. It doesn't mean that they hate things for which they see no evidence. They may also criticize your claims, or express disdain if you display bigotry, though. Remember: you're not God and they see your appeal to the divine ridiculous, understanding that it is a false authority, with scripture, only human tradition, easily twisted to support anything.
Confused?
