Quote# 69548

There's nothing ungodly about a death penalty for the crime of homosexual activity, per se, as God Himself once instituted it for His covenant people in their civil code. To condemn the punishment would be to attack the righteous character of God. This bears out also in the eternal sentence of fiery damnation for those unrepentant of this sin-- Physical death pales in comparison to the eternal death that awaits the unrepentant guilty.

However, a legal code that condemns the crime with death does not a Christian society make. Uganda needs the gospel first and foremost-- without a people and rulers that know the Lord and His ways this just penalty will be used for unjust ends.

WTF?

No seriously, what the fuck?

You don't kill other human beings based upon who they have sex with! Doing so would be insane!

There's nothing ungodly about a death penalty for the crime of being raped, per se, as God Himself once instituted it for His covenant people in their civil code. To condemn the punishment would be to attack the righteous character of God. This bears out also in the eternal sentence of fiery damnation for those unrepentant of this sin-- Physical death pales in comparison to the eternal death that awaits the unrepentant guilty.

And the crime if bestiality was punishable with death both for the person involved, and also the animal.

Gathering sticks on the sabbath is also a crime worth the death penalty according to the bible.

John

There's nothing "ungodly" about the death penalty for adultery, working on the Sabbath or sassing your parents, either. It just goes to show that the bronze age Arab goat herders who wrote the Bible didn't like these things, so they made up these rules and told everyone "God said so".

I agree, there is nothing ungodly about a death penalty for homosexual activity to the wayward mind of a fundamental cultist, even though homosexual activity is not a crime anyway. But the slaying of people who disagree with fundamental cultists is a very godly thing and fits in perfectly with the general character of the fundamental cultists and their murderous God. That is why fundamental cultism, should it ever be in the ascendancy, would presage the start of an atrocious period of terror, freely flowing rivers of blood and a regression to the ways of superstition and brutal savagery, much, I suspect, to the fundamental cultist's eternal delight.

Who was it who said something along the lines of, "To a beetle, beetles are the best"? Just swap fundamental cultist for beetle and you have the nub of what many of them espouse. The fundamental cultist will always call for the eradication of any that criticize them, gainsay them, mock them or appear to live not in accordance with their scriptural interpretations.

It's not that much of a surprise that the fundamental cultists' God is a genocidal savage with the mind of a tyrannical despot who thinks nothing of murder and brutality. The killing of women and children is a mere trivial act to this nightmarish vision of ravening insanity.

Only within TR3's fucked up religion can someone die twice.

There is very little in the OT that does not call for the death penalty. Read it sometime.

No! You can't squirm out of the fact that those innocents who will be murdered under this law will be murdered in your name.

Moral cowardice for Jesus!

I'm pretty sure that Jesus said that hating someone and wishing death on them makes you a murderer, and he also said that murderers have no eternal life in them. So have fun burning in hell asshole.

What about "judge not lest ye be judged"? Or how about "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." And Uganda has the gospel; their Christianity is far closer to the Bible than American Christianity and thousands of people have died as the result of "exorcisms" and accusations of witchcraft.

God according to the bible also made laws which condemned anyone who preached another faith (other than the jewish faith)to death and also all inhabitants of cities in which such prophets wouldn´t be killed.
According to the bible it is also divine law that a single woman who get raped has to marry her rapist (with the rapist having to buy her from her father) and a married woman who gets raped within a city has to be stoned alongside her rapist.
Not to forget that genocides and slavery obviously seem to be O.K. with god, after all he ordered his chosen people multiple times to do so (and even punished his chosen people as at one time they let against gods wishes some people of theconquered population stay alive).

So to condemn these things would as well be to attack the righteous character of God. ;)

There's nothing ungodly about a death penalty for the crime of working on Sunday, per se, as God Himself once instituted it for His covenant people in their civil code. To condemn the punishment would be to attack the righteous character of God. Surely you didn't do anything as miniscule as picking up sticks today (Num 15:32-36), did you TR3?

I'd say you should be stoned, but fire works just as well.

You know the concept of a fiery Hell is a New Testament idea that didn't exist when Leviticus was written, right? At that time the belief was that the consequences of your sins would be visited on your descendants 'yea, until the seventh (or tenth) generation'.
