If you are able to read and understand what the Bible says then it should be fairly obvious that the end times are near. Most people today are unable to read or understand simple concepts, they just accept whatever they are told over and over again. When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth.

It's the done thing now. To complement their delusions and their lying for Jesus, they have poeing for Jesus. Personally, I prefer the delusions and the lies, they are usually funnier, whereas the poes, though I'm not totally averse to them, mostly lack humour and sound ridiculously forced. Although, the desperation for attention in lieu of the desired waste-clasping-moment is quite amusing.
Haha Hadron, that one goes to 11? It's one... irony-er.
For this quote we need one that goes to 15, at least.
Every day, the end time is 23:59:59. The next day's beginning time is 00:00:01. You don't need the bible for that, just a 24-hour clock. Fairly obvious, that.
And what's with the Goebbels quote, anyway?
"Most people today are unable to read or understand simple concepts, they just accept whatever they are told over and over again. When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth."
DING DING DING DING DING DING DING. We have a winner!!!!!!!!
Oh bullshit. You idiots have been declaring END TIMES for centuries now. And every time it doesn't happen, you bend the schedule.
And how did your computer manage to not implode because of the overdose of Irony?
Except, how do you reconcile all the criminal acts of your God - the genocides, commands to kill even children, human sacrifice to him etc...
When you have sorted that lot out, then come to me and tell me why you believe the Bible should be true about anything. And BTW, 'because the Bible says it's true' is circular reasoning and therefore invalid.
So are you saying that all those other people since 70 AD who have said "the end is near" didn't know how to read the Bible, but somehow you managed to acquire this amazing biblical knowledge that has been lost to the entire of Christianity for the last two millennia? How come you're not up there with the great biblical commentators like Augustine, Aquinas, Calvin and Luther?
"When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth. "
And, how many times have you read the bible?
If you are barely able to read, can't understand what the Bible says, but able to make up stuff, then it should be fairly obvious that the end times are near. Most Fundies today are unable to read well or understand simple concepts, they just accept whatever they are told over and over again. When something is repeated enough, religious nutjobs think it becomes the truth.
When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth.
I'm omnipotent.
I'm omnipotent.
I'm omnipotent.
I'm omnipotent.
I'm omnipotent.
I'm omnipotent.
I'm omnipotent.
I'm omnipotent.
I don't think it's true yet.
"Most people today are unable to read or understand simple concepts, they just accept whatever they are told over and over again. When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth."
Don't you people all gather together in one place every Sunday to be told, over and over again, the same unfounded bullshit as the week before?
"The Earth is degenerating today.
Bribery and corruption abound.
Children no longer obey their parents,
every man wants to write a book, and
it is evident that the end of the world is fast approaching."
-Assyrian tablet, c. 2800 BC.
Actually, it more came down to the fact that I learned all sorts of logical ideas about the world around me with little direct influence from religion as I was growing up (Unitarian parents). I actually did believe in this God character I heard everyone talking about when I was much younger. Later, however, I started to learn the nuts and bolts of religion and none of it made sense compared to the cohesive information I was used to. As soon as things stopped making sense, God didn't make any sense whatsoever.
God was my often repeated truth, luckily I didn't have the rest of the baggage along with it.
"Most people today are unable to read or understand simple concepts, they just accept whatever they are told over and over again. When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth. "
Now do you understand how Faux News operates?
The end times occurred 2000 years ago. You know, when Jesus told everybody that he would return and the end would come in their lifetimes? It's in the bible, check out Matthew 24.
And I wouldn't say the part about just accepting what you're told over & over again, there are thousands of irony meters out there about to explode.
"When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth."
Indeed:
'If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it'
-Joseph Goebbels
(please excuse the Godwin, but is very relevant in this case)
"When something is repeated enough it becomes the truth."
Now where have I heard this before?
Oh, yeah: "Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it." -- A. Hitler
Like being told God does exist?
Reading the Bible made it fairly obvious to me that that god is a sadistic, misogynistic, jealous manic-depressive. Telling me over and over that women are worth only half of what men is did not convince me.
Hello sinners,
some of you have wondered what you could do good if it would be feasible to transform irony to energy.
I am proud to inform you that my evil master found about 0.9314159265358979 eternities ago a quite useful way to transform irony to, as most of you have already guessed, heat, lots of heat.
This one will be sufficient to cook Jsmythe for a long long time in boiling tar....

People have been saying this same thing over and over for nearly 2,000 years. Paul made it very clear in 1st Thessalonians that he believed that Jesus would return in his own time. When this didn't happen, one of his followers had to write 2nd Thessalonians and forge Paul's name on it to keep the movement going.
So, after nearly 2,000 years of failure, why should we believe you now?
You guys remember the Orion nuclear spaceship project? I think we have just found a way to restart this project without breaking any nuclear test ban treaty: Just use irony meters packaged with fundie posts instead of nuclear bombs.
Or would those count as weapons of mass destruction and thus violate that international law about WMDs in space?
the belief that we are in the 'end times' is almost totally universal among the current version of pop- christianity.
None of them have yet to explain why this is so.
But it does make for good TV.
And they are in on the secret. makes them feel special.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
