Yeah, but it may not be what you want Him to do. Look what He did to atheist Bill Gates and the First Baptist Church of Greensburg, KS. He made the former the richest man in the world, and the latter into a pile of rubble.
I didn't watch the video so I can't say if it's funny or not.
I have always found this to be one of the worst stories in the bible. At the end of my time of going to church, when they read this in church I would get up and leave.
First off, God never asked Mrs. Abraham, Sarah or Elizabeth I can't remember which now, because I think the story would have been very different.
I'm a mother and understanding there are always a few exceptions, mothers usually will do anything to protect their children, not kill them because some "GOD" needs to test them. It used to piss me off that God would ask such a thing and that Abraham was actually going to do it.
But I gave all that Christians stuff up and I'm much happier, but I find that story still pisses me off.
Is it the satire that is a blasphemy, or is it the telling of what the Bible actually says?
Satire isn't nice, really. As long as people respect your faith/lack of faith, you ought to do the same.

The story of Abraham being told to sacrifice his only son by God is one of the most reprehensible passages in the Bible (along with the whole Job episode).
Speaking of blasphemy...can I have my various gods back? It seems that Catholocism has only gone and turned them all into saints and saying that they used to be human. And then they go and pray to these distortions of...aw, screw it. I don't actually care what other people worship so long as they don't force it on me.
Was this by any chance Mitchell and Webb? cos I have to admit that their sketches on religion are the best quality ones in the show.
Any objective observer of the story of Abraham would think similar things.
Ok, Let's forget that blasphemy is not illegal and that many things can corrupt people and let's see important stuff.If God, on the other side, will know what to do with them, let him, ok?. Why are you so desesperated to see the earthly powers to do the job.
Imagine the hypothetical case that the makers of this video clip actually get sued, and convicted to prison time. (Unfortunately, in countries with blasphemy laws like Ireland, this scenario might not be too hypothetical)...
This would be the best promo for this video ever. "Barbara Streisand Effect". In a few milliseconds, this video would get distributed over the whole globe. eMail to all friends: "Look for what you get jailed in Jesusland!"
My dear fundies. The more you try to suppress other opinions, the stronger they get. Because with every weird action you do, the world sees more and more clearly what a bunch of crazy nutjobs you are.
Blasphemy is a victimless crime. In fact, it's free speech. If you don't like it, then get off the internet and shut yourself in your home so your precious ears and eyes will never be tainted by it again.
