[Audiences experience Avatar blues, are depressed because Pandora isn't real.]

This tells me with absolute certainty that the movie AVATAR was created as a propaganda piece. Not only propaganda, but mind altering propaganda. I had heard that the movie was pro-pagan, anti-human, pro-communistic in nature. Now it seems by this article that it's purpose was indeed to make people hate people, and the world we live in. Perfect for the eugenics / depopulation agenda. It seems that James Cameron is a master craftsman in the line of hypnotic mind control. Perhaps the reasoning behind the 3-D glasses?

God, this is the only section of the site that features people so far gone that it's funny. The rest are just terrifying

It was an interesting movie based on two things... Pocahontas and Fern Gully. It wasn't great and it wasn't horrible. There's really no need to read anything else into it.

"pro-pagan, anti-human, pro-communistic in nature."

You should try learning what some of those words mean before you use them in a sentence.

Perhaps the reasoning behind the 3-D glasses?

Well it certainly wasn't for the 3-D nature of the film. The glasses have small transmitters in them that brain wash you as you sit through the movie. The blue Na'vi were just a distraction.

Okay if people become depressed because Pandora isn't real they have mental issues, I'll give you that one.

"Now it seems by this article that it's purpose was indeed to make people hate people, and the world we live in."

You obviously have never visited Rapture Ready. They don't need a movie to hate people and the world we live in.

@aaa

It's not just you.

It is depicted very convincingly. I can imagine the letdown returning to the real world can hit some people hard.

I wonder if one of the things that makes Pandora so appealing is the absence of Fundies?

If I hadn't been here so long I would assume he was kidding.

Btw, there is a big otherkin wank going on over them believing they are Na'vi inside, for some reason the furries are fighting with them.

You heard that about the movie? Go watch it your damn self.

And yeah, while the Na'Vi religion is somewhat similar to some pagan and aboriginal beliefs, those similarities are pretty superficial.

The general theme I got was that coming into another culture's homeland and forcing your beliefs on them while simultaneously stripping their land of its natural resources is a real jerkass thing to do and might *gasp* make that other culture distrust you.

When I was a kid I was really sad that I couldn't live in the world of the Lion King.

Just thought I'd share that... It made me cry.

Also I don't know if it's really fair to compare the Na'vi traditions as a religion considering they had a tangible, direct link to their creator. Something no religion has given us.

Again though, it sucks that I can't be Simba.

This tells me with absolute certainty that the movie AVATAR was created as a propaganda piece.

Ok, I'll hear you out.

Not only propaganda, but mind altering propaganda.

That's an extrodinary claim. I hope you have extrodinary evidence.

I had heard that the movie was pro-pagan

Eh, kinda.

anti-human

More anti-imperialism, but go on.

pro-communistic

In the same way all prehistorical socities were communistic, as they relyed on the community to provide for everyone?

Now it seems by this article that it's purpose was indeed to make people hate people

I certainly hate Jake Sully, the traitor. Now, Colonel Quaritch. There was a badass motherfucker we can all look up to.

and the world we live in.

Sometimes, people are just as crazy as you. And need to watch a BBC Nature documentary in HD.

Perfect for the eugenics / depopulation agenda.

Wait, what?

It seems that James Cameron is a master craftsman in the line of hypnotic mind control.

He is? I need to find out his secrets...

Perhaps the reasoning behind the 3-D glasses?

Mmm, no.

@HeathenAngel - Can't forget Dancig With Wolves. or Dune.

How is James Cameron possibly at all since he is profiting from the movie for himself?

Oh please. The movie is just some liberal lecture not hypnotic mind control. I am ashamed that I even call myself "conservative leaning" because you muddy it all up! There is no eugenics agenda, if there was then it would be MUCH more direct. Fuck this.

The Na'vi were communists?

If they had been real communists they would have split up into rival Trotskyist factions halfway through the film, like the Pandoran Peoples Liberation Front and their arch - nemesis, the Peoples Liberation Front of Pandora.
