[Haiti suffers devastating earthquake.]
Sometimes when a nation falls so far away from the Lord, he will remove the hedge from around them. When the hedge is removed, dark forces are allowed within.
Are we watching as our own hedges are being removed?

No. At best we (or at least some of us) are learning that when you let a complete moron and Darth Vader run your country for 8 years they will fuck things up royally.
"he will remove the hedge from around them"
But as we speak, President Obama (and many other world leaders) are planning to replace that hedge, and even preparing the equivalent of a 'Marshall Plan' to rebuild Haiti.
Don't see your 'God' doing anything to stop them.
And George Clooney organised a massive fundraising programme for Haiti. Now, whilst not as massive a hedge as the one being replaced by the world's governments, and is a mere shrubbery by comparison, but it'll go some way to help.
Don't see Rush Limbaugh & Pat Robertson contributing.
Therefore governments & the Atheist George Clooney are superior to God.

You in the midwest & the 'Bible Belt' get more than that removed whenever there's a tornado and/or a hurricane. Which are 'acts of God'. And on a regular basis too.
From Wikpeida: "Haiti is a largely Christian country, with Roman Catholicism professed by 80% of Haitians. Protestants make up about 16% of the population."
96 % of the population were Christians! 96! That must be more than the US of A.
Wikipedia, again, regarding Sweden: "At least 45% and up to 85% of the population can be classified as atheist or agnostic. Sweden is known to be the most secular country in the world."
"At the end of 2008, 72.9% of Swedes belonged to the Church of Sweden (Lutheran)"
The conflicting figures are due to the fact that until 1996 every child, born to a parent belonging to a church, automatically became a member of said church. Few of us has taken the trouble to bureaucratically exit the church.
The main point is this: We haven't had a serious earthquake for centuries. There was one in the late 18th century at maybe 6.5. That is the largest corroborated quake in history in Sweden. I'm 40 and have lived on the West Coast almost all of my life. I can't remember feeling a quake, ever, although the West Coast is one of the two parts most prone to "quakes" here.
Seems our "hedges" are firmly in place. Or, you know, God has nothing to do with the movement of the Earth's outer layers.

Yes! We're replacing them with a nice white picket fence, and some ornamental trees, and a nice water feature right over there!
There was a hedge all the way around the country of Haiti? Even on the beaches? Funny how I never heard of this before. And what if there are gaps in the hedge where there's a sidewalk? Do the dark forces come in that way or can they not walk on sidewalks?
And why do I have the Knights of Nee going through my mind?
It's pretty sad to see how these supposed Christians treat their co-religionists. So much for "Brothers-in-Christ".
They're not even at war with Haiti, which could explain the cold stance, they just have this weird idea that the Haitians are in league with the Devil.
Are you saying humans can't fight back when the frontline defenses fall?
I don't hide behind hedges, I have a bunker.
If your god was truly merciful, as you claim he is, he would show mercy to everyone, regardless of what they purportedly believe. Failing that, your god is a shitstain. Now, what does that make you?

"why do I have the Knights of Nee going through my mind?"
Just as with Iron Chariots, God fears the word 'NI!'
...oh, and just as he couldn't create a rock so heavy he couldn't lift it, nor make a burrito so hot that even he couldn't eat it, or build a wheel on the basis of the Biblical principle that Pi = exactly 3 - or make a 2-sided triangle, God couldn't go into a Giant Sequoia forest and cut down the mightiest tree there with...
...A herring!
X3
Funny, wasn't Haiti at least 90% Christian or so?
But then again, they're probably not your particular fundie brand of Christianity.
Careful. Jesus (the Mexican gardener, that is, not the walk-on-water dude) is clipping the hedge! Aaaarghhh!!
Oops, Jezebel's Evil Sister beat me to it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
