[Re: Another user is upset at the way others are acting towards Catholics.]
What you see as "a pack of wild dogs turning on other Christians for fresh meat" is people who feel clarity about the Gospel is no passive matter.
By the way, referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving.

With over 30,000 different Christian cults, each with their own version of God and Jesus, there is bound to be in-fighting.
There is no better evidence against their bullshit than the shear number of cults. From the Catholic church to Westboro Baptist church.
It's this christian in-fighting that really turns people off religion you know.
How anyone can look at the whole 'love others' message of Jesus and then whine "Wahhh that guy believes that Mary was born without sin and I don't, HE'S GOING TO HELLLLL!!!!" And yet STILL claim to follow Jesus' ways is so far beyond my understanding, that I frankly can't be arsed with the whole mess.
I was raised SOB (Southern Baptist) and when my older brother in college brought home a Catholic girl he was dating my mome went ape-shit. She couldn't have been more upset if he was bringing home some brown bush woman who worshipped rocks and trees.
From what I gleaned from the time I was forced to spend in that church, Jesus loves everybody, including Catholics and ni**ers, but they're going to hell nonetheless.
Having spent a large portion of my childhood as a catholic and several years of my adulthood as a fundy, the 'pack of wild dogs' analogy seems accurate.
Or perhaps sharks on a feeding frenzy, with the accent on 'frenzy '.
Catholics see non-catholics as different, but most treat them as brothers and sisters in Christ anyway.
Fundies are quite rabid on the subject of catholicism, however. So much so that their protests almost sound like some kind of obsession, and most definitely like hatred. When I was in my 20s our church had a tent style revival and the guest minister was so nasty regarding catholics I got up and left. Even then it seemed wrong to me.
To fundies, no other type of worship is even considered christianity and other christians are never going to be their brothers and sisters in Christ. They're heretics and they are not even worthy of claiming themselves to be 'christian'.
Other denominations draw their ire too, but the only other sect that is targeted for sheer, foaming-at-the-mouth hatred is the muslims. To them, the only thing more deluded and evil than a catholic is a muslim.
Fundy-ism is a mental illness. I am so thankful to have been cured of it.
"referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving"
Why are you complaining, that's only what you "do unto others?"
> By the way, referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving.
Well, someone figured that "a bunch of back-stabbing bastards" is not only far less compassionate or humble or loving, but it is also a crime against alliteration.
Why dont you tomato heads get yalls stories all straight before you start trying to pedal your crap on us atheist. It would make yall (xians) look a lot less stupid if you did. "Less" being the operative word in that last sentence.
@ Zeus almighty and Shann: Excellent summations both of you. I have seen similar things. Well said.
"By the way, referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving."
Oh really? But hating homosexuals, atheists and people with dark skin is?
"By the way, referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving."
Neither is insisting that fellow Christians aren't, especially when you very clearly Did Not Do the Research.
By the way, referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving.
Dr. Eric Byrne, author of "Games People Play" referred to OnceWasLost's technique as the Game of Schlemiel ... you go around insulting or otherwise injuring people, goad them into reacting, then turn it around and act hurt as if they were intolerant.
"By the way, referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving."
Neither is the way you browbeat Catholics and claim that other Christians are going to hell because they don't follow the same man-made dogma you do.
Ah, I see your problem, and there's a really simple fix.
You all quit behaving like like a cannibalistic pack of wild dogs, and we'll quit calling you one.
See? Easy.
But it's accurate. Even people (Catholics) who agree with you on more than they disagree still can tell your group is a bunch of nutters.
Why don't you just give up a pretence and call yourselves the 'Hate-filled End-timer fellowship of Mayan Prohecy and misinterpreted Bible passages'
"By the way, referring to us as a "pack of wild dogs" is not compassionate nor humble nor loving."
I refer you to this thread in Ruptured Retards (and commented upon by we FSTDTers):

Not exactly 'humble nor loving' was your behaviour towards fellow RRer Clintville, eh? Just because he wasn't in lockstep with the hivemind that is the Repubicans, Neocons & Religious Right of Ruptured Retards eh, AlwaysIsLost? Why, your attitude towards him was... you could say... like a "pack of wild dogs"
'Sheep watched over by your shepherd (& Lion of Judah) Jesus'? More like a pack of hyaenas goaded on by Scar. And again, further proof of what I always say:
Hypocrisy, thy name is Fundie.
...oh, and your quote's been added to the Ruptured Retards Hall Of Shame too:

Just to let you know.
