No scientist has ever said that the earth would get hot everywhere at the same time. That's not how it works. I'm in the South West - we're normally kept pretty temperate by the Gulf Stream, but I was housebound for three weeks as the pavements were just too dangerous to walk on. Hell, just stepping out of my patio doors risked a nasty fall and broken bones! And although we're now back to something closer to normal here, it's still continuing in Scotland.
This is the second winter in a row that the weather has been unusually severe. Obviously nothing like enough data to prove anything, but the trend is for more extreme weather everywhere.
(My heart goes out to the poor people in the Midlands who hadn't yet dried out from the appalling floods we had back in Oct/Nov when they were hit by Arctic temperatures...)

I guess your weather depends on where you live. Here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we're having an unusually late and mild winter.
I used to walk through light snow for Halloween and would be shut in for Thanksgiving. This year I don't think we had any snow at all until after that point. And the shoveling I've had to do has been far less frequent and much more pleasant.

Just six years ago, winter here was severe from mid December to end of March.
This January, we had only a handful of days that came close to 0, and as many days of that, we had days above 45, 50... we've had very little snow... no ice storms...

The average temperature is going up a few degrees pretty fast. If it goes up too much it will melt the polar icecaps and flood most of the land we live on. What is so hard to understand about that?

Im not agreeing with him but just wondering what happened to global warming? When I was growing up thats what we were being taught in school and some people still use that expression. Is it an incorrect expression? Or have we moved onto something else? Any help would be appreciated.
