Quote# 7006

Thats perfectly fine, every person is special in their own way, I just think god gave some of us both warrior blood, and intelligence! Warrior blood alone is not a good thing, but some of us he blessed with both, so we can fight for the right reasons and the right side. You know you have warrior blood if the charge at Pellanor fields in LOTR: Return of the King gives you a feeling in your heart like you want to be there!

Why didn't he give you either of those?

Caustic Gnostic

Yeah, Tolkien could really throw together a good story.

Spoken like someone who has never been near a real battle before.

Want to know what war is really like? Its not like it is in the movies. In reality, it is horrifying. Have you ever seen the scars that war can leave on people, physically mentally and emotionally? And no, those scars don't mean that they were "weak" or "not real warriors." The scars mean that they are human.

If you truly understood war Drpepper687, you would be devoting your life to stopping it.

Allegory for Jesus

"You know you have a desire to validate your pathetic existence through petty acts of violence but know that you aren't up to task in anything but your idlest of fantasies if the charge at Pellanor fields in LOTR: Return of the King gives you a feeling in your heart like you want to be there!"

Fixed it for you. Alternative fix: switch "warrior blood" with "tiger blood" and "intelligence" with "Adonis DNA".

Get out of my fandom, buddy. You aren't welcome. Anyone that approves war is not approved of, much less a fundie.

It's a film. It's meant to inspire that kind of emotion. Try watching some actual archival footage of a real battle and see how you feel then. Or go with a different film, even; Oliver Stone has made plenty of films with war scenes. Do you have the same reaction to each of those?

I think it's clear to everybody that god did not give you intelligence.

Yeah, wait until you see a real battlefield. See how long it takes before you shit yourself.

Yep, every time I watch the opening sequence of Saving Private Ryan I fervently wish I could travel back to the beaches of Normandy on 6th June 1944.

And yes, I know the reality was even worse than the Spielberg version - which is horrifying enough. But then I do like to think that I was blessed with at least some intelligence, unlike this idiot Drpepper.

Many fundies seem wrapped up in this concept of a battle for Evermore or some such shit. That they will rise to heaven and come back with fiery swords riding flying horses to inflict bloody vengance on an evil world.

Borrowed Dogma as he amply demonstrates, they've wrapped their religion around popular fiction so much they think everything has Biblical context. They don't just believe in the Bible, the end-times and Rapture Dogma, they believe in fucking everything fictional.
