[Replying to 'Would you consider women being forbidden to speak in church sexist?']

No, because firstly, that women aren't any less than men because they aren't allowed to speak, and secondly, such a statement would only be made if there is a good reason. Never does the Bible say that women are less than equal.

Women are totally equal to men. We're just not allowed to speak in the church because it's \"disgraceful.\"

Yeah, I totally get it.

I'm damn sick of fundie doublethink. \"Oh, you can't do THAT, but you're not inferior...\" It's so stupid...

What bible are you reading?

Uh, denying women the right to speak in church IS saying that women are less than equal, idiot!

The second you deny women the right to do something that men can do, solely on the basis of their gender, you are stating that they are not equal. Moron.

You know, it always confuses me as to whether they are bigotted people trying to cover up their prejudices, or whether they're ultimately people with no prejudice trying to explain away obvious discrimination in the Bible. If it's the former it inspires anger and distaste in me, but if it's the latter it instead inspires pity, because these are really just good people who suffer from a pernicious delusion.

Not being allowed to express your opinions at all (based on you sex) is opression, sister

If I told you that you had to shut up and never talk in school, you'd go apeshit. So please, STFU.
