We need to put our foot down and force the oppressive left to accept the fact that we are human beings, all of us. Endowed with God given rights to not be killed just because our mother is a bitch or the state thinks the bus is a bit crowded... It wouldn't be "no abortions". But it would require every abortion be taken to court, where a fetus could have a lawyer and jury and he actually has a chance. He's treated with dignity and respect even at his earliest stages of life. That is what our country should be known for.

We need to put our foot down and force the oppressive right to accept the fact that women are human beings and can be in control of their own bodies.
And are you really suggesting putting a fetus on the witness stand to testify against an abortion doctor or his mother?
"it would require every abortion be taken to court, where a fetus could have a lawyer and jury and he actually has a chance."
Do you have any idea how backed up the American legal system is already?
By the time the case actually got in front of a judge, the fetus would be in Kindergarten.
If they are this opposed to abortion why are they against effective, affordable birth control?
(Yes I know they think sex is inherently evil, but it's still a legitimate question.)

So, you'd extend equal rights to foetuses, I wonder if you'd extend the same courtesy to post - natal gays, women, atheists or members of other religions. Oops, I forgot with "pro lifers" once you're post natal you're fucked!
OK. Taxpayers will pay for a pool of attorneys to represent fetuses. Just before the trial, the fetus has to personally select one of those attorneys. Any one of those attorneys, all the fetus has to do is say the name of the attorney of its choice.
If the fetus can't do that there will be no trial and the woman gets to choose her own course of action.
Interesting that this poster refers to these foetuses as "he", as if around half those foetuses weren't female (plus the intersexed ones, of course...)
I suspect that at the root of both that use of language and that argument lies the belief that only men are "real" people and women are second class citizens. If you're talking about the fact that "we are human beings, all of us", try extending that to women before you concern yourself with the legal rights of a non-sentient organism.

Unless, of coarse, those human beings are:
Gay
Non-Christian
Liberal
Poor
Elderly
Non-whites
Born outside of the USA
If that were the case, we'd be swimming in legal red tape and wasted governmental resources, no matter that in nearly all of those cases, it would be too late to even HAVE a trial by the time someone could find a completely unbiased jury...
where a fetus could have a lawyer and jury
Lawyer: "I call the plaintiff to the stands."
(Ultrasound equipment is set up. A blurry image of the fetus in question appears on a TV screen by the witness stand.)
Lawyer: "Now, Miss Jane Doe, how long have you been in residence of your mother's uterus?"
Fetus: "..."
Lawyer: "I see. Are you aware, Jane, that you have been diagnosed with Tay-Sachs Syndrome, a serious genetic disorder that kills in infancy?"
Fetus: "..."
Lawyer: "Do you have any objections to the procedure in question?"
Fetus: (begins sucking on fist)
Lawyer: "Let the record show that the plaintiff has no objections."

Seriously, how the fuck can someone go on trial who's still in utero and incapable of reasoning or communicating with others?
But it would require every abortion be taken to court, where a fetus could have a lawyer and jury and he actually has a chance.
Are you going to pay for the added expense on the court system?
This "leftist" is a strong opponent to the death penalty and to wars, and says that all humans DO have the right to not be killed, regardless.
The key word here is Human. Which we become at birth (or, if we listen to the Bible, 40 days AFTER the birth).
One in four fetuses doesn't have a chance at all, due to miscarriages. You know, the abortions made by God.
When you start treating each and every homeless person with dignity and respect, and provide them with shelter and food, then I'll listen to you.
"But it would require every abortion be taken to court, where a fetus could have a lawyer and jury and he actually has a chance."
Just by coincidence, these trials would always last 9 months.
We need to put our foot down and force the oppressive left to accept the fact that fingernail clippings are human beings. Endowed with God given rights to not be killed just because our fingernail clipper is a bitch or the state thinks the bus is a bit crowded... It wouldn't be "no fingernail clipping". But it would require every clipper be taken to court, where a fingernail clipping could have a lawyer and jury and he actually has a chance. Its treated with dignity and respect even at his earliest stages of life. That is what our country should be known for.

And here is the reason why being right-wing, neocon and Fundamentalist Christian should be legislated out of existence.
As somebody already said, to these folks life begins at conception, ends at birth, and resumes after death. Way to fuck up reality; I don't think even the most powerful weed is capable of that.
I don't think the fetuses will be doing a very good job of advising their counsel...
Seriously, this might be the most retarded thing I've ever heard.
"we are human beings, all of us"
Except for gays, women, poor people, non-whites, non-Christians, people who think, virgins, people who like music, people who are okay with paying taxes, people who have issues with capitalism, nerds, geeks, and anyone who disagrees with Saint Reagan.
Confused?
