"Take cancer, if man was so brilliant, we’d know what to do and cure everyone. Sometimes chemo and radio therapy works and other times it doesn’t regardless of what stage it is at. A good doctor prays for his patient and there are many that do. Wise up!"
Take US professional cyclist Lance Armstrong, for example. A man who, despite chemotherapy & surgery, was given - at best - a 40% chance of surviving his cancer. But with guts, determination & sheer bloodymindedness, he beat it. He went on to win seven Tour De Frances.
He's an Atheist. No 'prayer' required.
Your call, nmh.
@Headache
Which is why I refer to them as Repubicans. They did vote for George Dumbya Bush after all, who called the people of his country "'Merkins". X3
And I'd say to that so-called woman holding that placard, "Britain. National Health Service. Since the late 1940s. We're still here."
Universal Healthcare. Why not try it, America? It won't kill you.
Pun intended.
Oh, and if you had something like our NHS, then if all your genital hair dropped out, you could have free replacement genital wigs. Then you'd truly be 'Free Repubicans'.
Pun (& double-entendre) intended.
"It is GOD that is in control."
O RLY? Care to explain the Smallpox Eradication Programme then?:

Science - 1, God - 0.
HIV is under control via drugs & contraception. And research is underway for an anti-AIDS vaccine, based on gene therapy.
I think you'll find that, since the era of leeches & bloodletting, it's medical science that is in control. Just as, since the Renaissance, scientific discoveries are wresting control away from religion as a whole.
The shitloads of evidence for Evolution has effectively destroyed Genesis in the Bible biologically. Since 1957, every launch into space has destroyed the notion of a 'dome' that is the heavens, as described in the Bible, thus destroying much of Genesis in the Bible cosmologically. Soon, the Large Hadron Collider will utterly destroy Genesis cosmologically (and therefore all the Bible).
So who's in control, nmh?
