Quote# 7039

[To a famous paleontologist]You say theres no evidence for a flood. I say this is bovine feces. That statement has been made so many times on this forum I couldn't count them all. Yet I see lots of evidence for a flood. I can see, I can reason and I think much of this falsehood is an illusion of facts. Heck lets look at 'fossilization' the very thing that makes up your study. Are you completely aware of how fossils are made?

\"...I think much of this falsehood is an illusion of facts.\" Illusion of facts? Sounds like St. Paul advancing the truth through a lie.

I can only imagine the reply:

\"Yes Jim, I am...

Do you even know what a fossil is?\"

Um, yeah, fossils are made from large pressure applied to the remains of the once living thing from the layers of sediment that is above them. The remains then mineralize.

I suppose he has been told that fossils are the remains of creatures that died in the flood.

I've looked at the linked thread, and I can't tell for sure, but I don't think that Jim Larmore said this; I think he was responding to a previous comment in which this appeared -- in which case it seems that the geologist himself is the fundie in this situation! But the way the thread comments are nested on that site is unusual to me, so I may have failed to follow it correctly. Can anyone else check that?

Let me ask you a question. Are you completely aware of how babies are made?

There's more than one convention for quote separation in use here, as if it were copied and pasted from a system with a different code base. The mixture of the two makes it very difficult to tell what's coming from where, because the distinction between an open-quote and a close-quote has been erased.

Niali: Thank you for confirming that; it's pretty much what I thought was the case.

Are you so egotistical that you think you know more about paleontology than a professional and acclaimed paleontologist?

Yes smartass, I know how fossils are made. Fossils form when a big beardy man in the sky opens the solid firmament which covers the top side of the Earth in order to let all of the water above it fall through. Wait a minute ... beardy man ... solid firmament ... Oh yeah, I guess there IS a God after all, I can't believe we all missed that for so long.

"I say this is bovine feces."

Trying to make yourself sound smart, huh?

You're full of bovine feces.

I know fossils are NOT the result of the Noachian Flood as the Bible says that happened only once and was over in a year.
Fossils are found throughout millions of years and are a different levels and most species never cross over in the same layer and those that do and are distant are STILL different.

Your stupid flood myth fails on every test.

Of course I know how fossils are made. God made them in a flash, to test our faith.

You're right, there are lots of evidence for a flood, we have floods every year in spring. The Netherlands is almost flushed into the sea from time to time.
Oh, you meant a global flood covering all the earth to a height of about 16,854 ft (the elevation of Mount Ararat)? Sorry, no evidence anywhere.

Are you completely aware of how reasoning is done.
