Tuketu: Me thinks Roeder will be forgiven quicker by God than Tiller... doesn’t Tiller fit the profile of a serial killer?

Minipax: I agree. Roeder stopped a serial-killing sociopath who butchered babies for money. Roeder did what we as a society should have done a long time ago: put Tiller out of business.

According to the Bible (Exodus 21: 22-23), if a man causes a woman's fruit to fall from her womb without inflicting serious injury on the woman, he's only subject to whatever fine the judges and her husband decide for him. However, if the man seriously injures the WOMAN in the process, then the penalry shall be "an eye for an eye,a tooth for a tooth". In other words, the Bible says the woman's life has the value, not the fetus'.

Also according to the Bible, a child is not considered to be of value until it's one month old (Leviticus 27:6, Numbers 3:15).

And then there's the little part about Moses having abortions performed on women who had committed adultery (Numbers 3:15)

Hi everyone!

Just been thinking. Do any of you guys think when the game comes out, the Hell depicted in Dante's Inferno will become the backbone as to what fundementalists actually imagine Hell to be like?
I have seen bits and pieces of the game, and it seemed to be dark enough to scare anyone who believes in such things.
As such I would not be shocked if in the near future we should see fundementalists using images of Hell from Dante's Inferno, or even quotes from The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri; (a strange title I know considering the grim content, but in my opinion a surprisingly apt one).

= Reoder presumably maimed or butchered a living human being, thereby making himself no better than a killer. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. I will repay. Who is entitled to set that aside?

To use the baseball analogy:

1- Babies belong to the individual woman. If she chooses to have an abortion, it's her decision. You have fuck all to do with the matter, Free Repubic.

2- The court says otherwise. Methinks Roeder will be widening the circle of his friends, as his friends widen his circle in the prison showers. Two Words: Freshmeat. Cumdumpster.

3- Tiller's business was completely legal. Three Words: Roe versus Wade.

And you've struck out. Whine all you like, abortion is legal and here to stay. Live with it.

God aborted the first baby born to David through Bathsheba. And cop for this choice quote from the OT (emphasis added):

Hosea 13:16: 'Samaria will be held guilty, For she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword, Their little ones will be dashed in pieces, And their pregnant women will be ripped open.'

I wonder how those at Free Repubic, and the 'Pro-Choice'-rs as a whole reconcile this with their so-called beliefs? They worship a baby murderer after all. The undeniable evidence is there in the Bible.

1. Babies are not God's. They are the mother and father's. God, even if he existed, would have no rightful claim to them.

2. There's a difference between a baby and a first-trimester fetus. Big difference. Like, um, sentience. And, um, personhood.

3. Even if babies/fetuses did belong to God, that wouldn't make abortion wrong, according to Christian logic: If God existed, all the "non-believers" would technically belong to him, too, but that didn't stop Christians from massacring them left and right. And Tiller would belong to God, too, but that didn't stop Roeder from killing him...

4. Technically, giving something to God would involve killing it...so you're kind of stepping on your own argument there...

5. A serial killer is someone who murders a series of people. Tiller did no such thing. Roeder, on the other hand, killed an sentient, innocent man. Methinks you have their fates backwards.

6. So somehow, allowing women to exercise free will with their own bodies makes Tiller a serial-killing sociopath...quite the leap... And yet, "putting Tiller out of business", as you call it, isn't AT ALL indicative of sociopathy...or killing... Wow...

In short, you fail.

Tiller saved the lives of many women who would otherwise have died during pregnancy or childbirth. As he was one of very few in the US who had/has the courage to perform these operations, many women, who need an operation to survive, are now dying instead. Scott Roeder, by your logic, are the murderer of all these women.

I think we should take care of the already born, before we bring more people into this world. A breathing, thinking woman, who has the abiltiy to feel pain, takes precedence over a lump of cells with no self-awareness nor any ability to feel pain.
If she is saved by removing the fetus, she can live on to perhaps have more children later. If she dies with her fetus, not only are those two gone, but all the future kids that she could have had are gone too.
