You like stealing, adultery, idolatry, abortion, watching people suffer and you don't want to give it up.
Hey, you probably shouldn't talk back to your god that way.
2/13/2010 10:13:10 PM
stealing = nope, never needed to
adultery = never, I love my spouse
idolatry = nah, I take out the trash
abortion = never had one, ghastly if I had to make the choice
suffering = makes me depressed so I donate time and money to help
good person = better than some, could be better
hate god = what god?
love sin = sin is a religious concept. Not religious, sinless.
lie = exaggerations but never intentional harm
rules offensive = nope, law abiding citizen

"Heres a question to you all, what is evolution and how did life begin and how old is this big bang? You guys keep changing your storys all the time. One day its 50 Million then its 60 million. One day you say you came from ape then another soup that washed up on the beach. Then you put a man and apes bones together and call it the missing link."
You should know what evolution is, you seem to already hear plenty about it, the rest of your question is abiogenisis which is not evolution. Evolution explains how all the species came to be. Not how life started.
"because you are afrain to admit you think you came from the rocks that were rained on for millions of years."
And this differs from your "man came from dirt" somehow?
"I asked you a simple question about evolution and you would not anwser it, because your big bang is a lie from hell."
No, you asked a question about abiogenisis to try to discredit evolution with, dumbass
"See you guys hate God"
Can't hate what doesn't exist
"and you love to sin."
Even you do it seems. after all, you just lied and gave false witness
"So you will lie and say there is no God because the thought of God creating you and making rules for you to live by offends you."
No, I say there is no god because there is no proof for a god, and even if there was, the rules you claim he made, that are written in that book, are very fucked up...and no, i'm not talking about just the ten commandments bull
"You like stealing, adultery, idolatry, abortion, watching people suffer and you don't want to give it up."
lying and bearing false witness again, sinner?
"Then you hide behind the lie that you are "good people". Not one of you is good."
And you know this how? Good to see a sinner is telling me who is good and who isn't. I'll keep that in mind
2/13/2010 10:21:32 PM
This probably isn't a good time, but the Cherubs left quite the mess in the bathroom. I mean, it's like they didn't even try to aim for the toilet...
2/13/2010 10:28:45 PM
"Then you hide behind the lie that you are "good people". Not one of you is good."
Maybe tackling evolution is too much for you. Maybe you should start with irony. Master that one first before you hurt yourself.
Also, you use the word lie a lot...something you want to confess?
2/13/2010 10:39:54 PM
You like...watching people suffer...then you hide behind the lie that you are "good people".
As opposed to those who go around bragging about salvation and how they'll enjoy watching sinners burn in hell? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight.......................
You owe me a new irony meter.
2/13/2010 11:00:41 PM
I hate god the same way I hate Terrence the purple goat who lives under my bed and speaks only Spanish.
For the more obtuse among us (i.e. fundies) you can't hate something that doesn't exist.
2/13/2010 11:03:27 PM
Big Bang =/= evolution
2/13/2010 11:16:26 PM
You are all the proof we need that Homo fundicus descended from rocks.
2/13/2010 11:16:50 PM
Actually, I don't really like any of those things... particularly the last one.
2/13/2010 11:17:08 PM
Reductio ad anthropomorphised rock. Very persuasive. Frankly though, I don't think that these people are exposed to enough actual explanations of evolution. To solve that problem you'd have to sit at a kitchen table with them in meatspace and spend an afternoon having a patient conversation, because they certainly aren't going to decipher a text about it.

Strawmen about science in general and biology in particular - check
Confusing cosmology with biology - check
Confusing nonbelief with hate - check
Strawmen about atheists - check
Yeah this is a fine example of fundie drivel. Not nearly enough spelling errors or exclamation marks though.

Come clean my house. bitch.

Given the source, it's more likely that PZ (or one of the many regulars on Pharyngula) did, in fact, explain evolution, and in very simple terms. Furthermore, "Jan" here probably ignored said explanation.
As to "hating God"... it's hard to hate something that doesn't exist. (Same goes for sin, as it's a MYTH.)
That last... paragraph, if you can call it that at all, is pure projection on "Jan's" part -- as it's the CHRISTIANS who not only keep getting CAUGHT, but THRIVE ON "stealing, adultery, abortion, and watching people suffer." Especially the "watching people suffer" part.
2/13/2010 11:46:39 PM
Guys, I think Heavens Janitor might be a troll. I can tell from his anthropomorphism of the Big Bang and from seeing quite a few trolls in my time.

Stealing: Last thing I stole was (I think) a peanut from a bulk bin when I was 7. If you're god's petty enough to condemn me for something that small from so long ago I pity you.
Adultery: I've had my one and only for 4 years now and I have never even considered sleeping around despite being in a long-distance relationship.
Idolatry: Yes, I do use objects in my private rituals, but I don't worship the objects. I pay tribute to the deities and ideas associated with those objects. The objects are there to help me concentrate on the above.
Watching people suffer: Nope. I've donated what little I can to charity to help prevent torture and I honestly feel a bit queasy watching torture scenes in movies. When it comes to mental anguish, I don't ignore it or try to solve it myself. I know that trying to fix someone else's mental issues myself would do more harm than good, so I tend to advise them to seek professional help.

Ah, I love it when fundies explain to me what is going on in my psyche. Or are they just trying to convince themselves of their preconceptions about atheists? Nah, they all just happen to be psychoanalysts.
2/14/2010 4:06:55 AM
Does watching a fundie attempt to think count as enjoying "watching other people suffer?"
2/14/2010 4:11:13 AM
Oh noes, those bad big bangers are picking on you again, there there.
...will be dispatched to your location, post haste.
2/14/2010 4:32:52 AM
Ok, Let's try to condense more than 175 pages alone, just with Darwin's origin of the species, and you'll tell me who lies.
2/14/2010 4:34:08 AM
Stealing-Like when God told the Israelites to steal the land from the Canaanites.
Idolatry-Like when you pretend the bread and water is Christ?
Abortion-Like all the times God kills babies in the Bible.
Watching people suffer-Like all that suffering God put people through in genocide, slavery, ...
2/14/2010 4:37:11 AM
How much more explanation of evolution do you need? If you people would quit plugging your ears and screaming lalala every time someone tries to explain their views to you, you just might learn something.
And quit trying to tell us what we like and hate. I think we're all well aware of our own likes and dislikes. And if I like stealing so much, than why have I paid for everything I've ever taken out of a store, and never touched anything that doesn't belong to me without the owners permission? If I like abortion so much than why am I more than happy to help someone in a crisis pregnancy who has chosen to keep the baby? If I like adultery so much, then why do I get angry with acquaintances who cheat on their partners? If I like watching people suffer so much, then why did the images from Haiti bring tears to my eyes? And why would I even care about idolatry, since I don't worship anything?
2/14/2010 4:37:38 AM
The Theory of Evolution does not negate the existence of gods.
The Big Bang is NOT part of the ToE. Neither is abiogenesis.
I'd guess that the person did give you a detailed and exhaustive answer, but you held your fingers in your ears and sang "la la la, I can't hear you".
I have never stolen anything, I am faithful to my husband and was so for the ten years we were together before we married too, I have never had an abortion, I hate to see people suffer, I'd rather suffer myself.
Idolatry, I don't know, I look up to people with intelligence and altruistic ideas. Is that idolatry?
If you do good and think emphatically, then you are good. End of story.
2/14/2010 4:40:30 AM
As his long appears to be directed to those who believe evolution, I will provide a Catholic evolutionist's view of it:
stealing = I would never steal
adultery = Not married, but I'd never cheat
idolatry = I don't idolise much, although I do worship God. Does that count?
abortion = It's not a nice topic, and I hope to never be in that situation, but I will scream my head off for the right to control your own body
watching people suffer = So why did I donate almost all the money I had in my purse when the Haiti collection came around?
Good person = I try to be as good to others as I can.
