I agree that it is a LIE that the world is overpopulated. 1/6 of the world's population lives in India. It's my understanding that we can fit the entire world's population into the state of Texas. African people are starving simply because they are too superstitious to use their resources - to eat certain animals. If we would just educate them and give them the tools to utilize all their abundant resources, they would be just fine.

That should have read:
"The space and resources needed to grow enough food, and enough fresh, clean water to drink...that's the problem."
K. In other news, I miss the edit button.
This subject is so distrubing I must answer it seriously.
If we solve the problem of extracting the resources, does that mean we'll keep procreating until the supply DOES become a problem?
Get a grip on our fucking population before it BECOMES a problem, even if it isn't yet. Fucking fundies getting their facts from a bronze-age prophet is deeply dangerous.
Even now, it's not really resources per se which are the problem -- it's the distribution thereof. There's no local food independence, producers in poor areas are either export-focused or driven out of business, and there's no political will (read: expected profit) to ensure that food and water get where needed.
"entire world's population into the state of Texas"
Yeah, if you want to forgo personal space, climate control, and room to walk.
"1/6 of the world's population lives in India."
And that's a good thing?
Retard.
His name should be "Grow with Retardation", apparently that's what's happened to him, unless he's still 8 years old.
Why it's almost as though we white men have a "burden" of sorts, in Africa. What a great idea. I mean, this guy is dumb as a sack of hammers about geography, why should history be any different?
I hate to break it to him, but those starving in Africa are not starving because of superstitions. There are several reasons, but foremost among them as :
Desertification - I'm sorry, GwG, it's a long word that means the deserts are getting bigger, and arable areas are shrinking.
Dessication - Sorry, another long word, but it means that there isn't enough fresh water in the right places to allow agriculture.
Civil Wars - I'm sure you understand this one, and most civil wars in Africa are based on cultural and religious differences.
If you want to send them resources, send water !
Yes, population is not a problem at all. Because there are infinite resources in the Earth. Right. (Rolls eyes)
No, no matter how good we are at extracting resources and converting them into the types we need there's a finite amount. If these fundies would let people use contraception there wouldn't be a risk of getting overpopulated.
You can't even support India's population in Texas. Although that would make a great sitcom or twelve.
'Tashear in Texas'
'Dallas Deheadramasufurssadda Hakilamakkita'
'Leroy Hick and the snake charmer'
'Where in the hell is my Elephant now'
'My Mother the Sitar'
'I've heard of standing room only, but this is insane'
and on the educational channel
'Teaching inbreeds to make rugs'
'Whats the hells wrong with Texans'
'For the last time: We don't pray to Cows'
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
