My favorite canard is from Deval Patrick. “We passed Gay Marriage and the sky didn’t fall”. OK, let me play one. “Six million Jews died in Concentration Camps AND THE SKY DIDN’T FALL! Ridiculous, isn’t it?

The fact that you can eqivocate two guys eloping with industrial scale torture, rape, terror, looting, sadism, murder and insanity is just proof that you rat - turds have no empathy for your fellow human beings at all!
"Ridiculous, isn't it?"
Your comment? I'll say.
But six million Jews died and hundreds of thousands of gays, racial/ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, political minorities, etc.
Indeed. Either there is no God, or He approves both those things, or He chooses to permit them regardless, or He cannot do anything to prevent them. One of those must be the reality, any other conclusion, as you say, is "Ridiculous".
Gay marriage was legalized in some states in the US. What happened the next day? We woke up, went to work (some of us anyway), came home, went to bed.
6 million Jews died in concentration camps and what happened? An entire continent was compromised, a country crippled and still crippled even today, the first attack by foreigners on the US, the first use of the atom bomb, the death of millions of civillians and soldiers, emotional and family-related reprocussions and pain that's felt even today, the world almost, literally, self-destructed in war.
How is that not the sky falling down around people's ears?
First; Godwin!
Second; But, as Hitler was a Christian Creationist, and hated gays as well as Jews, disabled people, Romanies, Communists and a few other non-TrueChristan groups, he ought to have had your god on his side.
The sky wouldn't have fallen down if he was just doing God's bidding, right?
> "Six million Jews died in Concentration Camps AND THE SKY DIDN’T FALL!"
That's pretty amazing, isn't it? I mean, if there was an omnipotent god, surely something would have happened to prevent that kind of huge massive evil genocide.
Stopping a genocidal maniac took human effort.
YOU'RE the ones that predicted mass calamity, fall of the infrastructure and end of the republic if gay marriage was allowed. Not only has that not happened but it's never happened elsewhere in the world that allowed gay unions years ago.
You're comparision is ridiculous too as all of Europe was changed by Hitlers regime. Gay marriage is a ripple on societies surface

The fact that gays can marry is legal, and the Holocaust was an industrial massacre? And thinking that they're one and the same?
Ridiculous, isn't it.
The sky falling on those six million Jews != the earth moving for all those gays on their honeymoon.
And that's the difference.
You're desperately trying to compare apples to fajitas here, dude. While you're right, in both cases, that the literal sky did not literally fall, you're wrong in thinking the two events (legalization of gay marriage and the Holocaust) are in any way comparable. One involves allowing two consenting adults to live together as a couple, with all the legal benefits allowed in such a union, while the other involves slaughtering people who are in any way, shape, or form different from Hitler.
I'm sorry if you can't see the difference between these two, as it means that our education system is in even sorrier state than I possibly could have imagined. Hell, I'd expect a kindergartner could understand the difference.
2 people in love making a commitment to each other
vs
6 million people dying in horrible ways
yep, can't see the difference there
@Marc
I like to eat, eat, eat, apples and fajita's...
I like to ate, ate, ate, appels and ajita's...
I like to eat, eat, eat, eeples and ejita's...
You know, Godwin's Law says that comparisons to Hitler and the Nazis will be made during the course of an argument. But this guy doesn't even appear to be arguing with anyone. He went straight to Hitler while talking to himself. It's like an accelerated Godwin, or Hyper-Godwinism.
Fuck you. Comparing the expansion of people's rights to a genocide that was a world-wide tragedy even if the sky didn't LITERALLY fall is ridiculous, offensive and missing the point.
Especially since you right-wing types don't really care about Jews in the first place since the ones here aren't conservative enough and the ones in Israel aren't getting you raptured fast enough.
Yeah, but how many innocent lives were lost when gay marriage was passed wherever Deval Patrick lives? Now compare that to the number of innocent lives that were lost in the Holocaust.
Typical conservatard analogy.
There is a guy named DEVAL?
Pronounced like Devil?
KEWL!! That's how I would pronounce it if it was my name. Ooooh, now I wish it was.
@AL
"You know, Godwin's Law says that comparisons to Hitler and the Nazis will be made during the course of an argument."
Alas, it can't be helped when right-wingers are involved. Especially religious ones.
Hitler was a right-winger who believed in God.
Free Repubic, Ruptured Retards, Westboro Baptist Church etc are right-wingers who believe in God.
Just sayin'.
JSS, omg...that photo of the Jews in the gas chambers had a really deep impact on me... Just thought I'd throw that out there...
And I found this quote extremely insensitive, and was not at all surprised at the large number of comments compared to adjacent quotes. Because it seems the visitors to this website are sensitive human beings who treat sensitive, horrific topics with respect and tact.
To clear the "Six million Jews died in Concentration Camps" bit... six million people died under Nazi persecution. While Jews formed the majority, this figure also included communists, homosexuals, gypsies, and other types of people the Nazis didn't want. Not all of them died in concentration camps... a significant number were shot by firing squads in Poland, Ukraine, and Lithuania among other locations. The sky had fallen.
Gay marriage, on the other hand, is of absolutely no significance to anyone except for the gay people who wish to get married.
Ridiculous, isn't it? Now shut up, massgopguy, and redevelop your sense of perspective.
Confused?
