Quote# 70995

You people do realize that according to the law of God homosexuals should be put to death, so I think we are being very tolerant by allowing them to live. This said according to the word of God homsexuals are equal to murder and therefor have no civil right.

Seperation of Church and state is meant to keep the state out of church buisness and to ensure the Churches free reign, not the state free reign. I beleive many have it backwards.

Okaaay. You have "69" in your username and you are preaching Biblical attitudes to sex.

Am I the only one that sees an incompatibility here?

"You people do realize that according to the law of God homosexuals should be put to death"

God's out of his jurisdiction and should STFU.

Fun fact, nowhere in the Bible does it say that homosexuals should be put to death.

It does, however, say:
1. You shouldn't kill people.
2. You should love your fellow man unconditionally. (interpret that how you will)
3. That you shouldn't accuse others of sinning because you've probably sinned a lot more.

How magnanimous. I suppose I should be grovelling at your feet at this great mercy you're allowing me?

This said according to the word of God homsexuals are equal to murder and therefor have no civil right.
Homosexuality is an abomination, which is by definition, merely against the church's teachings. Murder is mentioned in the ten commandments. Not quite "equal." And if you're going by the Pauline rant, it's summed up by saying that we are all guilty of sin, and all worthy of death, so you are no better off than I.

Seperation of Church and state is meant to keep the state out of church buisness and to ensure the Churches free reign, not the state free reign. I beleive many have it backwards.
No, actually, you have it completely backwards, because the founding fathers saw the damage that resulted from religion meddling in the affairs of the state, and as such made it so that any religion wouldn't be able to have that sway. So you think how I am is wrong, or immoral? Fine. But fuck you very much for trying to legislate your bigotry on me. You have no right to threaten my well being (Yes, I caught the undercurrent of your initial comment) and no right to treat me as a second class citizen. As such, kindly sit on your thumb, go play in traffic, and fuck yourself sideways.

Y'know, I've heard different interpretations of that same passage.

And seperation means that they don't interfere with each other's business unless one breaks the laws they've both agreed to. For example you can't murder people around you and claim it's part of your religion while the state isn't allowed to persecute you solely because you belong to a certain faith.

You immoral, bigoted, asswipe! I think it speaks well for us that we haven't dumped your kind out in the middle of the ocean where your pure hatred can't harm anyone. The fact that you are allowed to speak such nonsense shows our commitment to civil liberties; the very things you jackasses want to destroy (except, of course, for you and your ilk). If anyone doesn't deserve rights, it's people like you and yet you still get them because unlike you disgusting monsters when we demand rights we demand them for everyone not just ourselves and people that we like.

"I think we are being very tolerant by allowing them to live."

How very kind of you. I think Christians should be commended for not killing everyone they disagree with.

"according to the word of God homsexuals are equal to murder and therefor have no civil right."

Thankfully they live in the United States of America and have the same rights as everyone else with the exception of marriage, but hopefully that will be corrected soon. But God's law has no legal status here.

"Seperation of Church and state is meant to keep the state out of church buisness and to ensure the Churches free reign, not the state free reign."

No, it's to keep the state out of church business AND to keep religion out of government. Remember the Establishment Clause?

"I beleive many have it backwards."

Like people who think this is a Christian nation.

The bible also says you shouldn't wear clothing of mixed materials, and we're forbidden from creating new breeds of cattle and domestic animals.

Oh yeah! Sounds like society's going to hell 9_9

RobinD69, I am not an American and I know you are so full of shit I can smell the stink from here in Canada.
How is it that the rest of the Western World knows more about your Constitution than you do? The churches most certainly DO NOT have free reign. I shudder to think what kind of hell hole the USA would be like if they did.
It constantly amazes me how morons like you fail to realize that separation of church and state is the ONLY way to guarantee freedom of religion.
But then, Christ-tards like you don't really care about other religions, do you?

But then if they are not both independent of each other its not truly a separation. Stop being willfully dumb.

You people do realize that according to the law of God homosexuals should be put to death, so I think we are being very tolerant by allowing them to live.

Then take it upon yourself to correct this current "mistake" in our American society. Go ahead, "fix" some of them filthy gays and follow God's Law to the letter. Just be ready to spend the rest of your life in a room with bars for a wall.

Seperation of Church and state is meant to keep the state out of church buisness...

Yes, so far so good.

...and to ensure the Churches free reign, not the state free reign.

And here's where you fall down and go boom. Which church? Catholic, Pentacostal, Episcopal, Muslim, Jewish, Flying Spaghetti Monster?! Also, the Establishment Clause of the 1st Ammendment won't let you declare a church or religion as the leadership of the USA. Only a secular democracy can lead.

I beleive many have it backwards.

Yeah, well, you wrongly believe that the 1st is a one-way street in your favor only. Sorry, too bad so sad, it's also to keep churches out of the government.
