Oh now that's where you're wrong. It is quite trivial to wreck the economy if you have enough money and don't care about losing it all. Note the actions of a single big speculator buying enough currency can lead many other smaller players to follow as the assumption is that he knows something they don't and boom! Currency overvaluing leads to said big player selling everything and suddenly crashing that currency value into the ground! The Federal reserve can try to buy currency to stabilize the value but will simply save the currency with the govt going into a massive amount of debt from which it will take a long time to recover.

Alternative scenario: Any one of America's (or any other nations) wealthy major TNC heads runs their "too-big to fail" corporation into the ground dragging the economy down with it. They may go to jail but that's still a 1 man economy wrecker.

Lets go with another alternative: How about a Head of State, in charge and ultimately responsible for, all executive decisions of government, especially in economic policy who is grossly incompetent and a slave to ideological values rather than sensible economics? One who throws a powerful nation into a long and drawn out war (action that has historically wrecked the economy of nearly every powerful nation e.g. The British Empire, Germany, Japan, Russia, France, Italy, pretty much any African nation etc). One who cuts taxes when government deficit is growing at unprecedented rates. One who had more total control of government, media and his party than Obama could wish for and therefore the almost total power to get anything he wanted through congress and senate. Despite any bungles on lower rungs of government his say-so alone on several decisions could have easily averted the eviscerating of the world economy.

Bush was the 'banker' in an eight-year-long Monopoly game, with the US as the main board. Somebody won for sure, at the expense of the Big Three and more big banks than you could shake a stick at.

So, Wyatt and Adam, unless you can claim some major corporate dividends as income, you've been stomped on like the rest of us who couldn't even get into the game.

Failin's a definite case of 'looks aren't everything'. Proof? Barbara Castle*. Had the appearance of the Antichrist Maggie Thatcher (*spit*), but was politically the diametric opposite. When she was Labour's transport minister, it was she who contributed greatly to road safety by her bills introducing the 70 MPH speed limit on motorways, seat belts in cars, the breathalyser, and she gave the go ahead to the building of the Humber Bridge.

All Thatcher did was cause more destruction to the UK industrially, financially, commercially and socially, than Hitler's Luftwaffe ever did in WWII. Ergo my more than infinite hatred of everything - and everyone - right-wing.

Barbara Castle is proof that Left-wing thinking is superior. In every way.
