Quote# 711

The Gita is lovely and seemingly profound in its teachings, but unlike the Bible it has no evidence to show it is anything other than the fictional work of a man.

Neither does the bible!

The babble doesn't have any evidence showing it to be the work of god either.

I'm not entirely sure what the Gita is but I'm sure it can pull afew vague as fuck prophecies out of its ass to prove its divinity.

The Bible IS the fictional work of man.
The Gita makes no claim that it is divine, and is FAR older than the Bible, plus it is incorporated into the Mahabharata which is even older by over 3500 years.

And what is the bible's proof? Please answer without referring to the bible.

Quantum Mechanic

The Gita is lovely and seemingly profound in its teachings, but like the Bible, which is ugly and obviously written by stupid, vindictive assholes, it has no evidence to show it is anything other than the fictional work of man.

There, fixed.

Show evidence that the Bible is more before you start making statements like that. The arrogance is... well, rather becoming, considering that you're a fundy.

a mind far far away

First prove that the bible IS written by god and not by man, and then you might have an arugument, although you'd still have to find a way to correct the thousands of lies in it.

Dr. Shrinker

What difference does it make to the people at RR? They haven't read either the Gita or the bible!

Show me evidence for divinity within the Bible please, and no saying the Bible says it's true is not good enough.

What a beautiful summary of the human thought process, in one sentence it says more about what's wrong with science then I could do in an essay.

Gita: 3500 year old philosophical book on how to live life, and is still very applicable today. Displays no hatred to other religions. Made in advanced-for-the-time South Asian kingdoms.

Bible: 2500 year old book that details the "life" of an evil sky giant, his hatred towards mankind, and how to join his cult. Displays hatred to anyone or anything who isn't a " true Christian". Made by some random crazy, illiterate, goatherds in the middle of the Middle Eastern desert.

You were saying?

I think that if more people today followed the Gita, there would be much less bigotry.

Although the bible has some good stuff, such as love one another. The bad stuff probably outweigh the good stuff,so gita>bible.

I've read this idea a lot and heard it discussed in debates and many phone ins to Atheist experience. They can't ever show anything that would indicate it's not man made fable.

Even William Laing Craig, Their "Genius" Apologist (Knows him some werds!) makes this claim and is left hanging with just the assertion.

They just sputter "Divine Revelation" and "Unknowable knowledge" like those are actually valid.
