Quote# 712

What about the fact that people that don't belive in His [God's] existance are afraid to examine any evidence with an open mind?

I might be more inclined to believe in God's "existance" if I were only enlightened enough to understand the meaning of that word.

What about the fact that there isn't any tangible evidence to examine?

6/6/2010 4:29:23 AM

Provide evidence and I'll happily examine it. (And, no, the bible doesn't count!)

One example of you providing evidence is all you need to complete this theory. We're waiting,,

Grey Seer

We DO examine all the evidence with an open mind. That's how we came to disbelieve the existence of God in the first place...

"What about the fact that people that don't belive in His [God's] existance are afraid to examine any evidence with an open mind?"

I'm an Atheist. Now show us this 'God' of yours, in hard, solid, physical form that can be seen, heard and touched (and no, not Jesus, 'God' himself). And for him to prove he is who he says he is, by demonstrations of his powers to my satisfaction (and if that means he must do whatever I say in perpetuity, so be it). Then, and only then, will I acknowledge that this 'God' of yours exists. Because it's the only possible way that I will.

Whether or not he's deserving of 'belief', 'praise' or respect, is an entirely different matter.

...that 'open minded' enough for you, gzufreq? Your call.

How much more open minded do you want us to be? We can't do much more than wait for you to present evidence.

Crimson Lizard

What evidence? That mysterious evidence you claim to have mountains of, but won't present to anyone?

7/26/2013 9:38:35 AM

Well, we'll have an open mind, if you can actually show us evidence (PROTIP: 1 Thessalonians 5:21 [KJV]: Prove all things. Scripture that destroys Scripture [/paradox]) to our satisfaction.

Ever wondered why the Bible isn't admissable as evidence in a court of law, fundies? Otherwise, Kitzmiller vs. Dover would have gone your way, re. Creationism.

No evidencee, no acceptee. A rainbow doesn't actually physically exist, but at least it can be seen, nay is explainable & even replicatable. So what does that say about anything & everything you lot claim about the so-called 'Supernatual'/'Spiritual Realm', eh...?!

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV). It's as if the very basis of 'Belief' and 'Faith' - your precious Bible - came with a weapon built-in for we Atheists to destroy you fundies. And the way things are going in this very much left-wing, secular & Atheist world, we're winning.

The 'Mystery' of the Bible - just as Bletchley Park did in WWII with Enigma - decoded. 'Know your enemy amd know youself, and you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles', just as Sun Tzu said in his "The Art of War".

And just as Winston Churchill did re. the Wehrmacht, we Atheists know more about your 'beliefs' than you fundies do.

Dr. Shrinker

Ah, the ME123 school of debate.

"Oh I have evidence for god. LOTS of evidence for god! Oodles of evidence for god!!!

No, I'm not going to tell you what it is, but I have it so I win!"

7/27/2013 6:19:56 AM

What about the fact that people that belive (sic) in His [God's] existance are afraid to examine any evidence with an open mind?

7/27/2013 6:26:24 AM

What about the mountains of evidence for evolution? How do you feel about that?

7/27/2013 6:28:08 AM

What evidence?
