@His4Life
I suggest again, you go study the Bible, and actually read it. I'll quote a bit for you, but I suggest Matthew 26, Mark 14, and Luke 22, as well as Luke 2.
"As far as Jesus and Jewdaism goes, Jesus did NOT celebrate the Passover. He called it heresy. He celebrated the Lord's Supper, which is a big difference."
Matthew 26:17-19 "17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover? 18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. 19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover."
Mark 14:12-16 "12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? 13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. 16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover."
Luke 22:1,7-13 "1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. ... 7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. 8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat. 9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? 10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. 11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. 13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
Here, from three gospels, we have a discussion of Jesus instructing his disciples to prepare for the passover celebration. The Jewish passover celebration. As for what it is called, in Matthew 26:18, Mark 14:14, Luke 22:8, and Luke 22:11, we have the words of Jesus himself calling it passover.
Now let us examine Luke 2:41-47. Perhaps you are familiar with the story of the young Jesus in the Temple? He went with his parents to Jerusalem. Why did they go? To celebrate, once again, passover. What does Jesus do there? He leaves his parents, goes to the temple, and discusses theology with the Jewish priesthood, answering their questions. Guess why he was able to talk with them so learnedly? Because he was raised Jewish.
As for "rabbi", it is Hebrew for "teacher". How often did the disciples call Jesus "teacher" in the Bible? Guess what? In the original language, they would have used the word rabbi. There were many Jewish theological teachers at the time, therefore there were many rabbis.
Once again, please go read your bible. It's full of stuff like this. Read it yourself, don't ask your minister to tell you what it says. Open your eyes, and see what it says for yourself.
Go forth from here enlightened, and spout your bullshit no more.
Thank you,
Reverend Razark, D.D.
