Damnit, Blasphemina beat me to it.
Seriously though, how did they think this sign was a good idea?
Cogito, ergo sum
Thank you very much.
So, a slave, one way or the other. If that's the case, i'd rather be one that knows the score, at least.
A variation on the theme of the other church sign from the Top 100 - "Reason is the Greatest Enemy Faith Has"
BTW, also a Baptist church in that one.
God: Hey, dude, kill your son.
Guy: Lol really?
God: Yes, do you have to question everything!?
Guy: *Kills son*
God: Dude, what the fuck are you doing? I was testing your faith! DAMN IT SATAN! HE DID IT AGAIN.
Satan: Did what?
I was wondering if this was from a sign-making program, but those generally use a strict format for each letter. If you look at the "E"s, though, some of them have a wider upper gap, some a wider lower gap. This one's legitimate (depending on your definition of "legitimate", anyway...).
Those aren't different fonts, actually...
The Es are upside-down.
Pro sign makin' there, boys...
@Canadia
More like:
God: Hey, dude, kill your son.
Guy: Lol really?
God: Yes, do you have to question everything!?
Guy: *Tries to kill son but is stopped by a nameless angel who dares thwarting Gods command*
Angel: Phew! Just in the nick of time. Seriously though, if you two don't start acting like matures soon I'm going to have to do something about it.
I'm a free man.
That aside, how can anyone possibly be the slave of a non-existent being?
oh.. fundies...
never mind the silly question
I think. Therefore you are... a twat. Also...
Why do you hate Freedom , New Canaan Baptist Church?
"Collective fear stimulates herd instinct, and tends to produce ferocity toward those who are not regarded as members of the herd."
"Conventional people are roused to fury by departure from convention, largely because they regard such departure as a criticism of themselves."
"So far as I can remember, there is not one word in the Gospels in praise of intelligence."
"Many people would sooner die than think; in fact, they do so."
"Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible; thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man. "
-Bertrand Russell
And, to quote the chorus of our classic patriotic song "Rule Britannia":
"Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves,
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves. "
So, Satan is a loving and compassionate boss who lets his otherwise unpaid servants do what they want to make their lives better, whilst your God is a demanding asshole who hates people thinking unsanctioned thoughts?
Good to know.
@Number 6
"I am not a number, I am a free man!"
The Prisoner FTW (not the remake though; as far as I'm concerned, if it's not set in Portmeirion, it's not "The Prisoner").
'I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.'

"P.J O'Rourke was on to something when he wrote:
"Making fun of fundamentalist christians is like shooting cows with high-powered rifles."
The UK's equivalent, Jeremy Clarkson (so what if he's somewhat 'reactionary', like PJ O'Rourke? He speaks from the heart, presents one of my favourite TV programmes "Top Gear", and he's an Atheist) once said of certain people in the Deep South:
"They really do have an irony deficiency here. I can honestly believe that in certain parts
of America now, people have started to mate with vegetables."
A good ad.Some may say,a free thinker is an atheist because he can't get answers to his questions.
I saw an interview by one Dr.Brown on www.thedeenshow.com where he says Muslims follow Jesus more than christians on www.thedeenshow.com.It is very interesting and attracts christians to think.
God bless you.
Reminds me of this:

This is not photoshopped. This is an actual quote by Martin Luther. And I've checked the original text: This is not taken out of context. Martin Luther really meant what he said. This quote was in an essay where he wrote that children should be indoctrinated in religion as early as possible, before their minds develop reason and critical thinking.

Even though P.J. O'Rourke may be slightly to the right of Arnold Schwarzenegger (as is the UK's Jeremy Clarkson), but at least he's not a teabagger neocunt wingnut. If only there were more true Republicans like him (and Schwarzenegger). Rush Limburger, take note.
Damn good observational writer (as is Clarkson, with his own bestselling books).
Confused?
