the bill of rights in based on exodus
Let's see, amendment 1: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The Bible: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." and also "If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people."
Not even close.
Amendment 2: Well, okay, I guess since god is a psychotic bloodthirsty tyrant, guns should be okay with him, so you've got one.
Amendment 3: Bible says nothing about quartering troops.
Amendment 4: Bible says nothing about searches and seizures.
Amendment 5: Bible says nothing about due process, double jeopardy, self-incrimination, or eminent domain. In fact, god acts as judge, jury, and executioner which is very unconstitutional.
Amendment 6: Nothing about a fair and speedy trial.
Amendment 7: Nothing about trial by jury.
Amendment 8: "Prohibition of excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment."
The whole fucking Old Testament advocates cruel and unusual punishments such as stoning for gathering sticks on the wrong day. And the the New Testament advocates eternal punishment for finite crimes.
Amendment 9: Nope, nothing.
Amendment 10: Nothing about the power of the states.
So, we have 7 amendments that aren't even mentioned in the Bible, 2 that are completely contradicted by the Bible and 1 that would probably be condoned by a bloodthirsty god. So you have 1 out of ten and it's not even the most important one (well, not to non-fundies anyway).
