It's amazing how one's own perspective affects ones perceptions. This is why I never ask a Fundie when I want to know something about atheists, Jews, Catholics, pragmatists, agnostics, scientists, vegetarians .... besides, it's hard to understand what they are saying when they are speaking from inside their own alimentary canal.

*sigh*

I don't "disbelieve" in your fantasy character, I have never had any belief in it in the first place, your nonsense has always just been that to me, nonsense!

And no, I don't believe in anything, I am not a believer.

An atheist is a man who believes himself an accident.

In a way, you are correct, just not in the way you were trying to go. I am the result of an accident, an accident involving my mom and dad having sex and the accident of a sperm cell to meet and mate with an egg. So, indeed, you may say we all are accidents.

I read about the afterlife

"disbelief in God usually results in a belief in anything"

If I believed in just anything -- I'd probably be just like you, soldier.

"An atheist is a man who believes himself an accident"

The word accident still implies a creator, asshat.

Why do these fucks think an atheist is only someone who doesn't believe in Yahweh? Certainly there are hundreds of gods they don't believe in!

"We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further." - Richard Dawkins

No, an atheist doesn't believe in any deities. Otherwise you just called me an atheist even though I'm a pagan. Oh, wait, fundies sometimes get the two mixed up...

Your first sentence contradicts itself.
Contradictions aren't profound, just stupid.

Well, I was born ten months after my parents were married, so technically I'm not an accident.
Oh, and for the record, I'm an atheist who is skeptical of unproven claims, so I don't believe in just "anything".

I'm the youngest of three children and the only one who was actively planned. Unless you factor in the "accidents" of my parents meeting and my
mother's decision not to leave my father after my brother was born, I'm not an accident.

Actually, surveys of belief indicate that the more devoutly fundie you are, the more likely you are to extend that uncritical belief to other kinds of woo.

Well, based on the inconvenient timing of my birth, I'm pretty damn sure *I* was an accident... oh, that's not what you mean...

"An atheist is a man who believes himself an accident."

CAUTION: 38% of people are caused by accidents.

That's what happens when mummy and daddy use cheap condoms.

And at least mummy and daddy exist.

I do not believe in myself. I believe in others who believe in me.

Nope. I don't Believe in anything. No gods, no demons, no ghosts, imps, spirits, or fairies. No supernatural Beliefs at all.

An accident? Guilty as charged. My parents were 40 and not planning any more children. They had a few too many during a trip to Hawaii and, nine months later, I was born with sand between my toes.

I'm pretty sure that there are female atheists too.

"We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further." - Richard Dawkins

Trouble is ole Dawkins doesn't get that loads of us believe that all these religious myths are symbols of the same search for reality/truth/God.......so we believe them all and yet none. But please, let Dawkin's own strawman excuse you from facing the reality of philosophical and theological paradigms if you must.....though it's still a fundie thing to do.

And yes - soldier is talking crap!

Speaking as someone who's had a few beers, where the fuck did you fucktards get the idea that someone who doesn't believe in baby jesus will believe in anything?

Shiny mirror award.

If atheists believed in anything, they'd believe in God. They don't believe in God exactly because they don't believe in improbable stuff with absolutely no evidence to support it. It's believers in God who believe stuff like talking snakes, magic fruit, an entire universe being poofed into existence in six days and the rest of the nonsense one has to swallow to accept some bronze age fairy tale.

Why am I unsurprised that a fundie would use language appropriate to only men to refer to members of a group which is not all-male?

Oh, right, because fundamentalist religions generally present a hugely sexist view of the world to their adherents.

The sad thing is I doubt this person even realised they were being sexist.

Ummm... NO.

It's the religious who will believe in anything, as evidenced by the bizarre (and occasionally downright dangerous) shit we see here. Also: Christian "Science" and faith "healings"....

Yes. As an atheist I believe my mother and father fucked, conceived and gave birth entirely by accident.

You tit.
