It would be so nice to have a vacation from the "Christian nation" circus.

3/29/2010 7:49:08 PM

Glen Beck, is that you?

3/29/2010 7:49:14 PM

Good god, this joker reminds me of the first entry on this page. And yet I have a feeling that she really means it.

dog on

Treaty of Tripoli for starters, or, how about reading some Jefferson, Adams, or Madison. Learn a little more about the people who founded this nation before spewing an asinine opinion.

3/29/2010 8:02:14 PM

and deleting Thomas Jefferson from history proves this!!!!

3/29/2010 8:08:48 PM

No. You're wrong, idiot.

3/29/2010 8:09:20 PM

Yaaaawn. What's got you wharrgarbling, Mom2Three? Did iddums get her widdle values challenged by something ordinary?

3/29/2010 8:09:58 PM

No they are not. The first amendment and Treaty of Tripoli both disagree with your statement about it being a Christian Nation

3/29/2010 8:20:26 PM

Tolpuddle Martyr

NO, you are just a PARANOID DICKHEAD!
America is not a CHRISTIAN NATION but a SECULAR REPUBLIC. Even non Americans know that!
CAPSLOCK does not make your arguments TRUE or your penis BIGGER, sorry to break it to you!

3/29/2010 8:22:50 PM

I'd like to know what nation it is that you are a part of because when I read the "Constitution" and the "Declaration of Independence" there didn't seem to be very many references to "God" and there certainly we not any about Christianity. In fact, the first amendment allows us all freedom of (or from) religion. If you'd like to live in a "Christian Nation" you should maybe check out the Vatican City. I hear they are doing very well over there. Child molestation, scandals and cover-ups!

3/29/2010 8:23:53 PM

Quantum Mechanic

Treaty of Tripoli shit-for-brains.

3/29/2010 8:47:54 PM

As was said in the thread, we are a secular nation founded on secular ideas, and we happen to have Christian traditions in our heritage. Big deal. That would be the same as me saying you're a liberal because your parents raised you in a liberal household (not to imply that you were), even though you're conservative.

Random Guy

Perhaps you are HEADCRAB ZOMBIE!

3/29/2010 8:57:31 PM

Rumpshaker Slim

Mom2Three would hate it in vatican city! It's full of evil catholics, not True Christians(TM).

3/29/2010 8:57:45 PM

Na na na na

Wait, so most liberals and progressives don't want to admit that we are a Christian nation... and they want to change that?

So, does that mean you think they want to start admitting it?

3/29/2010 8:59:40 PM

Sorry, but we're not a "Christian Nation" other than most citizens claim to be Christian.

The Constitution establishes a secular Republic where no religious test for office is allowed.

3/29/2010 9:04:23 PM

Actually, I don't care what religion you want to be a part of or how much ignorance you want to wallow around in, I just don't want jerks like you trying to take the rest of us down with you. You keep your religion out of politics and out of public schools and I couldn't care less if you want to pretend you're eating your messiah every Sunday.

Most liberals and progressives dont want to admit that we are CHRISTIAN NATION

And see, that's where I take issue with Christians. This is not your nation and you don't own the rest of us.

and I think they are trying to change that!!!

Actually, YOU guys are the ones trying to change a secular democracy into a theocracy through both politics and historical revisionism.

3/29/2010 9:19:03 PM

I'm no great fan of Christianity, but even I'm aware that it is perfectly possible to be a Liberal and a Progressive and a Christian all at the same time, with no more congitive dissonance than suffered by conservative bible literalists.

3/29/2010 9:41:31 PM

Yes, actually. I am trying to eliminate Christianity, by arguing against it whenever I can, and by showing people that a world without God is a more pleasant world than one with God.

But I'm not enlisting the help of the law to do so -- why must you insist that the government prop up your ancient superstitions?

3/29/2010 10:24:15 PM

Speaking only for myself; I am only trying to eliminate religious batscat, of all denominations, from our schools and other government institutions. As long as they aren't plotting to kill a bunch of cops to begin a civil war; I don't give a shit what fundies do on their own time.

3/29/2010 10:30:04 PM

No, I'm trying to eliminate religion, that does include yours, sure, but it also includes every other religion.

However, this was not will never be and is not a "Christian Nation".

Constitution, Treaty of Tripoli, yada yada.

Honestly, you should put some of your energy into reality, instead of your bronze age fantasy world you so enjoy living in.

3/29/2010 10:32:02 PM

Actually, yeah. I am.

3/29/2010 10:45:49 PM

On a philosophical level there is little difference between us you know. At the end of the day we're just two opposing arguments equally convinced of our superiority.

There is one big difference, we can prove our stance, while you ain't got shit. Really, what the constitution says is no secret. Go, the original paper is there for you to see. It say's your wrong.

Therefore, the difference is that we win.

This myth again?
