Quote# 71776

If you are elderly you will be denied care. They won't say denial, it will be called a "waiting list." A needed life saving surgery will be put on a five year waiting list. Sure you will die if you don't get the operation in 6 months, but thems the breaks.

Oh and every five years during your retirement, you will be asked to commit suicide. I'm expecting forged signatures will be commonplace.

It will be the same if you know someone who is mentally handicapped, they will be denied care...they don't contribute to society, so they are too expensive to spend scarce health care dollars on.

If you have an expensive condition, like cancer...you will die. There may be life saving procedures available, but you won't get them. Its cheaper for you to die.

The bottom line is this: If this health care bill is so great, why did congress exempt themselves from it? Yes they and their families will get better care than you will.

Because your system as it stands is so good at protecting the poor and downtrodden.

"If you are elderly you will be denied care."

Exactly. Why, oh why can't America have a government program that provides medical care for its elderly? Why are our older citizens locked out of hospitals on a daily basis? Why, instead of helping these poor older souls, do doctors instead euthanize them?

Maybe we should start a program that everone pays into that will ensure that when they are older they will get needed treatment. And they could call it, I don't know, maybe something like "Medicare."

... Oh, wait.

Also, have you even fucking read the legislation or are you just repeating what your authority figures are telling you? As far as Congress keeping their platinum plans, what else would you expect? I don't remember the Republicans, with Medicare Part D, including themselves in that plan.
And don't forget, when the public was bitching about Congress voting itself a raise every year the Republican majority cynically solved that problem by making pay increases automatic unless Congress specifically voted NOT to take the raises.

Ah right, thanks for the re-education. Still, any Conservative govt hasn't touched it, and they wouldn't dare (Tory PM Edward Heath - and the last Conservative I respected - regarded the NHS as sacred).

As someone who's lived in the UK and the US, could you tell which healthcare I prefer?

That's right, the UK- the place where you don't wait all night to get treated for a friggin' asthma attack.

Hhhmmm I want to say poe as I've been watching Little Britain and this sounds like something Mr. Mann (a character on Little Britain) would say. Also I want to keep what little faith I still have in humanity.

Listen Mr. Mannn, you don't know shit except hwo to listen to takling points from Faux News. That being said, it is true that medical resources are scarce and by definition must be rationed to some extent.

Right now the system is set up so that if you are poor, you will be denied care. And quite frankly the way things were going if you were middle class you were going to be denied care. Something had to be done and honestly I would rather have a government bureaucrat, that at least is supposed to care about my health and well being, making these decisions as opposed to a corporate executive whose primary responsibility is to shareholders and the bottom line.

I don't know why I am bothering talking to Mr. Mannn as he is a leading internet douchebag.

I read about the afterlife

"You will be asked to commit suicide"

Mr. Mann should realize people who are exasperated with his religious fanaticism ask him "Why don't you just die?" Not doctors.

Wow this bill sounds horrible.

Why can't America return to the utopia that existed before, where everyone had their every healthcare need paid for from cradle to grave with no rationing and no-one died of preventable diseases?

'It will be the same if you know someone who is mentally handicapped, they will be denied care...they don't contribute to society, so they are too expensive to spend scarce health care dollars on. '

But... didn't the insurance companies already deny insurance to people with pre-existing conditions? Maroon.

Wow. It took this long for health care rants to appear on FSTDT? Surprising to say the least.

It's not like that happens now...

Better to be on a waiting list than completely denied.

Furthermore, pretty much everything else you're saying is a lie, because the entire point of this bill is to make sure that people can get the life-saving procedures in question. What you are describing is far closer to the status quo, actually.

I work oncology and I can't begin to express the disgust I feel for insurance providers as it is. Someone with NO insurance gets the best of the best because the DOCTOR gets to decide the treatment. Those that have slaved their asses off and have insurance have to go through a hell of a lot of red tape and in the end, the insurance companies get the final say and it is usually the CHEAPEST most least effective!
You, MrMann are outta yer fuckin mind!!!!

WTF is with the every five years you will be asked to commit suicide?? What the hell are you blabbering about? Asshat! (Had a bad day...)
