Wasn't there a study that showed that internationally an overwhelming majority of respected scientists are either Atheist or Agnostic?
The more you know about science, the less likely the "truths" of religion become.

Even if there are millions of scientists who believe that god created life, what does that have to do with evolution? Evolution explains how life became what it is, not how it started.
And if you think asking for proof of your experiments is bullying, then you don't quite understand the scientific process...
4/5/2010 9:51:40 AM
Evolution is not about creating life. That is abiogenesis, dumbass.
The Intelligent Design people are silenced? That is news to me.
And no, they are not scientists. You need to be involved in a scientific field to be a scientist.
4/5/2010 9:52:50 AM
Don't be bothered by all the idiots defending Christianity. They have their heads in the sand and don't realise they have been brain-washed - the Christian establishment has tried to bully evolutionary scientists into silence, however there are millions of scientists who firmly believe that evolution principles created life. People have a blind un-questioning faith in God, it is their god, and it takes more faith to believe in Christianity than it does to believe in anything else!

Said the pot calling the kettle black
4/5/2010 9:54:25 AM
Is it opposite day again?
4/5/2010 10:29:40 AM
...the scientific establishment has bullied Intelligent Design scientists into silence...
Yeah, those mean old scientists, expecting them to produce PROOF, and stuff...how cruel.
4/5/2010 10:36:26 AM
The further I get through my biophysics curriculum, the more confident I am in saying:
If life was designed/created, someone did a pretty half-assed job of it -- or else an improbably brilliant job at giving life so many indications of being a result of undirected trial-and-error mucking-about.
4/5/2010 11:00:10 AM
Ooh look guys, a pic of Zac of Melbourne himself :)
4/5/2010 11:04:03 AM
98% of scientists accept evolution. At least.
Many of these people do believe that God is ultimately responsible for evolution occurring and such other matters, but the fact of the matter is that scientists who are creationists are very few in number. VERY few in number.
4/5/2010 11:19:41 AM
Actually, there are a lot of scientists that are Christians AND have reached the conclusion that evolution is true. The only ones who defend creationism are a marginal 4% of university graduates or not scientists at all.
4/5/2010 11:20:48 AM
This shit again?
4/5/2010 11:27:28 AM
The brilliance and originality render this position impregnable.
4/5/2010 11:30:39 AM
I call troll
4/5/2010 11:51:30 AM
Do you really believe millions of scientists could be silenced? How stupid are you?
BTW: Do you know Project Steve
4/5/2010 12:41:36 PM
We have the fossils. We win. You have the brain-washing. You lose.
4/5/2010 12:55:28 PM
Better to be brain-washed by someone who subjected their theories to experiments than to be brain-washed by someone who refuses to update their centuries-old dogma.
4/5/2010 1:04:08 PM
"...and it takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in anything else!"
Okay. Cue Pee Wee Herman.
"I KNOW YOU ARE BUT WHAT AM I? HA-HA!"
Thanks Pee Wee.

The monster under youse guys' beds didn't "create" diddly-squat. Just sayin'....
4/5/2010 1:50:12 PM
For no real reason, mind, we're just huge dicks.
4/5/2010 1:57:49 PM
"millions of scientists"
Most scientists I know don't care enough about religion to call themselves atheists.
4/5/2010 2:14:00 PM
Bullying is definately odious. I think we should invite Inteligent Design scientists to disseminate the proofs they have for any assertions they may make by writing them down for all to see in the comments section of the Herald Sun.
4/5/2010 2:26:33 PM
Forget the comments, read the article itself. I literally double face palmed.
4/5/2010 3:50:40 PM
Don't be bothered by all the idiots defending evolution.
Because people with all that evil education couldn't possibly know what they are talking about.
They have their heads in the sand and don't realise they have been brain-washed
So says someone who has to actively deny literal tons of evidence that disprove his assertions.
the scientific establishment has bullied Intelligent Design scientists into silence
Bullshit. There is no science to ID. ID makes no predictions, conducts no experiments, and brings no evidence to the table whatsoever. It doesn't even meet the most basic requirements of science.
however there are millions of scientists who firmly believe that God created life.
Belief in a "god" doesn't that person also believes in ID, nor does it mean that person doesn't accept evolution. The ToE doesn't require one to disbelieve in a god.
People have a blind un-questioning faith in evolution, it is their god
Except for the fact that it isn't. No one "worships" evolution, no one thinks of evolution as a "god", there is no evolutionary dogma, nor is evolutionary theory an unchanging set of beliefs that allows no new ideas or evidence.
and it takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in anything else!
Yeah, right. It takes so much faith to analyze all that evidence. Much more faith than it takes to believe that a magic man just poofed everything, fully formed, into existence ex nihilo and then not only erased all evidence of his involvement and very presence, but also went to incredible lengths to make it appear that all creatures evolved slowly over billions of years.
4/5/2010 5:33:21 PM
Football man takes the lowest common denominator and act as if he knows everything..all the while charging scientists for acting proud.
