(From a page apparently protesting the lack of an Easter logo on Google's main site)

None of these are easter logs. A correct Easter logo is an empty crucifix or the words "HE IS Risen." To the poster above (Allen), religion is far from it's death bed. Unfortunately, western religion is not doing well. That would be the love your neighbor, good samaritan, turn the other cheek religion. The kill the infidels (non-believers) religions are doing just fine. In fact they are growing faster than any other group. So, Dhimmi, will you choose conversion, taxes, or death? And really those are the choices they will give you, it's in the Koran, perhaps you should read it. Personally, I prefer the turn the other cheek crowd. What you fail to understand is that the religions are the congregations not the churches. Celibate priests comes from protecting community (the church) property. Unfortunately, like all things it can be twisted and is a good hiding place for homosexual pedophiles (haven't heard about any preists abusing girls). I'd like to see NAMBLA try to defend them, (of course NAMBLA would never do that), purely to watch liberal heads explode in confusion.

1. There is no Easter logo. There is no ATTEMPT at an Easter logo. Nor are there logos for other religious holidays, such as Passover, Yom Kippur, Eid-al-Fitr, or Beltaine. Don't take it personally--we members of other religions aren't having our holidays honored by Google either.

I dunno, liberal Christianity, Buddhism, and Neopaganism are all this sort of religion, and they're all doing quite well.

5. A good 90% or so of homosexuals find the very idea of pedophilia repulsive. In this, as in most other respects, they closely resemble the rest of society. By equating your average gay guy with NAMBLA, you've shown us exactly how little you enjoy turning the other cheek.

Oh, indeed. Religious people can be good, or bad. But the system of religions is one that has an astounding potential for corruption.

Celibate priests comes from protecting community (the church) property. Unfortunately, like all things it can be twisted and is a good hiding place for homosexual pedophiles (haven't heard about any preists abusing girls).
Mostly because priests, as I understand, have no access to girls. Dimes to donuts, an easy 9/10 of those priests identify as heterosexual, too...most pedophiles freely admit, they choose boys over girls merely because they have easier access, and not because of preference.

You have no idea what NAMBLA is, do you? And for the record, we don't speak out about the priests because it's a convenient way topick on the poor Catholics, but because FUCKING KIDS ARE HARMED. I doubt many liberals would stand by NAMBLA at the best of times!

One point...while you guys are keen on the "turn the other cheek" thing, you seem intent that it's only against people you disagree with that it applies to. You lot, as proven by this tireade, are markedly thin-skinned.

What did happen to the cross Jesus was crucified on? Was it left standing empty, days later? Or was it taken down so that they could remove Jesus' body? I mean, they probably didn't leave such horrible gruesome execution implements standing around

Ancient history time...

Yes, the upright of the cross (the stipes) was usually left standing as a warning to other rebels. The crosspiece (the patibulum), which was the only part of the cross lashed to the victims shoulders to be carried through the streets (all those paintings of the 'Stations of the Cross' you've seen not withstanding) was re-attached for each execution. If they were indeed ever used I have no idea how the foot-rest (suppedaneum) or seat (sidele) were adjusted to accommodate victims of differing heights.

Incidentally, at the time of Jesus's supposed crucifixion what was later named the crux simplex was most commonly used, it was a straight-forward stake with no crosspiece. What we think of as a calvary cross isn't mentioned before 100AD.

In mediæval times there were enough relic 'pieces of the True Cross' floating about to build a barn...

So, Christianity has never had any heresy trials? No witch burnings? No breaking of bodies on any wheels to make them confess? No inquisition? Just love and friendship and respect towards every single person in the west?

The Koran says "You shall not kill", just as the Bible says. Many of the Muslim countries are as fundamentalist now as Christian countries were around the time of the Dark Ages. Why not trying to show them how the western world got rid of our Dark Age, so that theirs can be shorter and less violent than ours was?

Pedophiles are neither homosexual nor heterosexual. It's the vulnerability of the victim and the absolute control they are after, not the specific gender of their prey.
Celibate priests are seldom alone with little girls. That's why you seldom hear about that kind of abuse.

Isn't NAMBLA all but extinct? Btw, our heads wouldn't explode. Older men who wants to abuse little boys (or girls) are sick, regardless of how they try to rationalize it to themselves.

If you loved your neighbor so much, then why are you so quick to persecute homosexuals, atheists, and others?
If you Christians really are "good samaritans" then why do you support prop 8, focus on the family, or AFA?

Perhaps you should try reading your bible sometime. You'll find that as far as violence goes, it's not that different.

Because most pedophiles go for the gentleness and innocence of a child, they can be either hetro or homosexual. And the reason you don't hear of many girls being molested by catholic priests is because Catholic children are seperated by gender.

I liked to see the number of married Christian men in NAMBLA, and watch conservative heads explode in confusion.

Since Easter was swiped from pagans (Ostara) the log is correct.

And a quick FYI, that cross you think Jesus was nailed to, it was X shaped. Have a nice day!

Priests were told to be celibate for one reason only: to increase the coffers. Only 1st born sons went to school, which was at Seminaries. When their father died, they inherited the property of their faters. When they died, and having no heirs, the 'Church' got it. It has NOTHING to do with protecting children, you ignorant git.

And to further point out your ignorance, over 90% of pedophiles are heterosexual males. The gender of the child matters not to a pedophile, just the age and the sexlessness of the childs body. Of course priests don't have much contact with little girls, because of how the church segregate the sexes.
