At least they're honest

(" - what they [creationists] represent has little to do with science.")

And of course to the prideful, arrogant 'scientist', science is all there is. But his statement is not quite true anyway; actually what we (Christians) represent has nothing to do with science. Our vision transcends what the eye sees, and our souls are anchored in the Absolute, Eternal God. "Evolutionists" are anchored only to themselves in this fleeting life, and are doomed to live without any meaning in their lives beyond their own puny brain power. Their vision is limited to what their retina processes and their 'empirical' brain can comprehend. Beyond this they see nothing. Just as an animal will invalidate something he can't smell, the evolutionist will invalidate something he cannot 'prove' with his brain. Both live in a base, soul-less world of the senses.

How empty and vacuuous the evolutionists' lives must be as they age and their brains deteriorate, and all they have left to 'anchor' themselves to is a scrapbook with pictures of dinosaur bones and dashed hopes of discovering the 'missing link'.

Funny, because it seems more likely that someone who views this life as nothing but a waiting room to something much better is more likely to live an empty and vacuous life as demonstrated by the large number of people that wait with glee for the end of the world.

"Our vision transcends what the eye sees, and our souls are anchored in the Absolute,"

And is therefore indistinguishable from fantasy. If we have no way to prove that you're telling the truth and not just lying or delusional, there's no reason to believe you.

"How empty and vacuuous the evolutionists' lives must be as they age and their brains deteriorate, and all they have left to 'anchor' themselves to is a scrapbook with pictures of dinosaur bones and dashed hopes of discovering the 'missing link'."

The "missing links" was found decades ago. And my life is much fuller than someone who spends it kissing the ass of an invisible deity because they think it'll torture them forever if they don't. Those scientists' "vacuuous(sic)" lives are spent making scientific advances, each generation moving forward further than the last. It's cause of those scientists, who supposedly have no meaning in their lives, that humans went from not being able to fly to going to the moon in the space of one century. When has the human condition been improved by comfortable delusions?

So we all need to live in a fantasy world to be fulfilled?

Well, the meaning behind your comment may be completely wrong, but unlike most of your ilk, TheCrusader, you certainly have a talent for writing. You might try fiction; fact doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

Ha ha - you can't find fulfillment in your life outside your faith.

Sucks to be you.

Sure, Crusie dear, you all have your heads in the clouds, no reason to listen to you in any tangible, Earthy business.

Have fun imagining things...

"Evolutionists" are anchored only to themselves in this fleeting life, and are doomed to live without any meaning in their lives beyond their own puny brain power.

Who says? Scientists, when they are on the job, are only concerned with finding natural explanations. They don't deny that there may be supernatural explanations; it's just not their job to find them. The supernatural they leave for Sunday.

"And of course to the prideful, arrogant 'scientist', science is all there is. But his statement is not quite true anyway; actually what we (Christians) represent has nothing to do with science. Our vision transcends what the eye sees, and our souls are anchored in the Absolute, Eternal God."

I once had that. Bad acid.

"'Evolutionists' are anchored only to themselves in this fleeting life, and are doomed to live without any meaning in their lives beyond their own puny brain power."

If you don't have a purpose to life, find yourself one and enjoy yourself doing what you love. As for the brainpower thingy, i would not say that it's puny. Look at you, we brought you the internet and all you do is shit all over it. Is this how you repay our gifts?

"Their vision is limited to what their retina processes and their 'empirical' brain can comprehend. Beyond this they see nothing. Just as an animal will invalidate something he can't smell, the evolutionist will invalidate something he cannot 'prove' with his brain. Both live in a base, soul-less world of the senses."

Just because you don't find anything physical interesting, doesn't mean that we aren't interested in it.

"How empty and vacuuous the evolutionists' lives must be as they age and their brains deteriorate, and all they have left to 'anchor' themselves to is a scrapbook with pictures of dinosaur bones and dashed hopes of discovering the 'missing link'."

Just because you have lost all your will to live, doesn't mean that we haven't. I actually am quite enjoying this moment. Especially since i am currently watching this rather nice video about the greatest motorsport of all time.

I've ALWAYS felt that someone looking forward to the bliss of heaven has always thought that life is futile more than any non-religous person.

"And of course to the prideful, arrogant 'scientist', science is all there is."

Science is why we are where we are. Without science, humanity would be huddled in caves without even fire to keep us warm. Contrary to what you likely believe, prayer is poor kindling.

"But his statement is not quite true anyway; actually what we (Christians) represent has nothing to do with science."

You can say that again.

"Our vision transcends what the eye sees, and our souls are anchored in the Absolute, Eternal God."

An "Absolute, Eternal God" that you somehow can't manage to produce evidence for. Very compelling.

""Evolutionists" are anchored only to themselves in this fleeting life, and are doomed to live without any meaning in their lives beyond their own puny brain power."

I need no external, and unevidenced, beings to give meaning to my existence.

"Their vision is limited to what their retina processes and their 'empirical' brain can comprehend."

As is everyone else whose brain functions properly.

"Beyond this they see nothing. Just as an animal will invalidate something he can't smell, the evolutionist will invalidate something he cannot 'prove' with his brain. Both live in a base, soul-less world of the senses."

I prefer to have evidence something exists before I accept that it does. The more outlandish the "something" is the more evidence I need to believe it, and let me tell you, your god is about the most outlandish thing I've ever heard of.

"How empty and vacuuous the evolutionists' lives must be as they age and their brains deteriorate, and all they have left to 'anchor' themselves to is a scrapbook with pictures of dinosaur bones and dashed hopes of discovering the 'missing link'."

You should stop now before you embarrass yourself further.

No necessarily all there is, but all that's unquestionably proven to exist. The way I see it, if we weren't meant to explore and enjoy this world, why did the divine bother to create it and put us on it in the first place? Why make it so spectacular if it's just a waiting room?

I invalidated this because of its smell.

"Our vision transcends what the eye sees, and our souls are anchored in the Absolute, Eternal God."

The problem with these kind of things is that they're generally indistinguishable (s?) from fantasy. It might be true, or it might not be, but how can you know?

It's annoying when religious people arrogantly proclaim this to be Absolute Truth without recognicing the potential pitfalls.

Blah, blah, blah, we're so wonderful in our blind faith and unquestioning, closed-minded dogma. Fine, I'm happy for you. Now, shut the fuck up, fuck off and leave the rest of civilised, educated society to get on with discovering the universe. I also expect you to immediately renounce all of the works of science, including modern medicine, and go and live up a tree eating your food (if you can find any) raw.

Oh, and there's no such thing as a "missing link".

And if "the Singularity" ever happens, possibly in 2030, according to some Futurists, some "Evolutionists" will upgrade/augment themselves, using available techniques at the time, such as gene therapy, nanotechnology etc, to become "posthuman", & transcend their organic, animal limitations, including sensory ones...

Good call. Gets my vote for pot/kettle award too.

Another convoluted fundie diatribe trying to discredit evolution so as to feel comfortable about their dogmatic belief in a 6000 year old world. That pretty much sums it up.

And of course to the prideful, arrogant Freeper, Free Republic & the Bible are all there is. But his statement is not quite true anyway; actually what we (thinking human beings) represent has nothing to do with religion. Our vision transcends what the eye sees, and our souls are anchored in the reality of science, the world, and our fellow man. "Fundy Christians" are anchored only to themselves and their Bible in this fleeting life, and are doomed to live without any meaning in their lives beyond their own puny brain power. Their vision is limited to what their retina processes (which is the KJV Bible only) and their single-celled brain can comprehend. Beyond this they see nothing. Just as an animal will invalidate something he can't smell, the fundy Christian will invalidate something he cannot 'prove' with his Bible or the word of Pat Robertson. Both live in a base, imaginary world of the Bible.

How empty and vacuous the fundy Christians (and Freepers)' lives must be as they age and their brains deteriorate, and all they have left to 'anchor' themselves to is an antiquated KJV Bible and dashed hopes of discovering their imaginary 'truth' - creationism.

FIXED.
