Yeah - "any second", in 2004? By now that means they're off by a factor of about 1.2x10^8.

Still waiting for the Second Coming?? Well, fellows, let's hope he hurries. He's got eight minutes left. No, but seriously, no offense meant. I know one shouldn't make fun of deeply-held beliefs. So, I think, a great big hand for the Great Prophet Jesus, wherever he's got to.

28Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." Matthew 16:28

Jesus promised to return 2,000 years ago.

The way I read it, Christ never left the building. He's lurking, watching all the ridiculous people doing their freaky shit in His name...Jesus? He's been dead for 2kY. It's possible his bones have some mojo, sorta-kinda like St Philomena, but who has his bones?

Well, 4 years, two days later, Rapture Ready is still chugging along, thinking it's 'any second now', and unbelievers around the world are enjoying life, even those who are dying, as opposed to dying Rapturists, who feel God has lied to them.

"ANY SECOND NOW!"

Roughly one eighth of a billion seconds later, we're still waiting...

That's over 5 years now. (Nearly 158 million seconds and it was none of them!)

What did HFJ mean by "so close"?

Tomorow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps by in this petty pace from day to day until the last syllable of recorded time...

"ANY SECOND NOW!"

That was in 2004.

Six years later...

When's the penny gonna drop Heart For Jesus & everyone on Ruptured Retards, hmmmmm? While we on FSTDT are waiting for that to happen on RR (but we're not holding our breaths*), here's a little food for thought, especially when the clock strikes midnight wherever you are:

Every day the (C)Rapture hasn't happened, is one more day we Atheists are proved right.

*- But it'd be fun to see the meltdown that'd occur as a result of so many Raptards truly seeing the light, as they realise that what they'd been taught to believe was nothing more than a lie, and as a result three things happening:

1- The paranoia of those still adhering to their delusion going to DefCon 1 and drinking the Kool-Aid to accelerate that lovely (C)Rapture. Those at Jonestown and the Heaven's Gate-rs can't be wrong, after all.
2- The mental trauma of realising their 'beliefs' were just that - a delusion - being too much for their fragile uneducated fundie minds, and they become foetal position-taking, rocking back & forth in the corner, drooling vegetables.
3- Coming out of such stronger people. Who now see reality. Atheists.

I've seen what happens when fundies realise their 'beliefs' are nothing more than lies - and it's not a pretty sight. But usually the third scenario happens, fortunately. And they finally join the human race.

Or they figure things out themselves and acknowledge that a 'God' doesn't exist in the first place. With no drama or histrionics. Just ask Jonathan Edwards:

Eight years later and our wet chunk of rock is still here. Just suck it up and admit that the end of the world shouldn't come until the sun starts dying, becomes a red giant that burns the planet and then consumes it, and goes nova.
