I don't like this Idea at all this is very distrubing! If these people all believed in the blood of Jesus would be one thing but a lot of them don't even believe ether that he exsisted or that he wasn't who he say he was, which is basically saying that he is a lier. This makes me furious when people do thing's like this, how can a muslim and a Jesus Christ follower have anything in common. image image

Fair play, I am definitely gonna start believing in Jesus's blood soon. I'm just waiting for 4Godisjust to show me the proof that He existed and that He was who He said He was. I'm assuming that 4Godisjust has proof since he seems so righteous in his fury.
If, however, 4Godisjust has no proof but only believes that Jesus existed and that He was what He said He was, then 4Godisjust is just a theist, very similar to a Muslim in fact, or a Catholic, or an Inca temple worshiper, or a jungle Witchdoctor etc. etc.

I have friends who are Muslims, Christians, Jews, atheists, agnostics, communists, liberals, socialists, environmentalists, vegetarians, humanists, etc.
Lier is spelled wrong, I would like to say that I believe most christians are some of the biggest liars on the planet! thanks, for proving my point by lying for jesus on a continuous basis. A muslim and a jesus follower are both terrorists. sorry you dont see the resemblances.

How can I be calling him a liar if I do not believe he exists or that, as a non-existent person, he could not have said anything at all. That is an oxymoron, moron!

Well, for starters, they're both human beings. Furthermore, they are American citizens, with all that implies. And bringing them closer together, they serve in the United States Military as chaplains. Those are just the most obvious things they have in common.

I'm agnostic. Some of my best friends are Christian, some of those even conservative. We like a lot of the same music and TV shows. I used to have a muslim coworker. We're both Kansas City Chiefs fans, and had a lot of fun rehashing the games during football season. I'm still close to many of the catholic friends and family growing up.
In the real world people of different beliefs can get along and even be friends. Crawl out from under your rock, and try it sometime.

Maybe they believe in the ideas of peace and altruism towards fellow human beings? I'm non Christian and I think there should be more of those in society.

For you to state that Muslims don't believe Jesus exists is the height of ignorance on your part. He is one of their most revered prophets, second only to Muhammad.
Whenever I read comments like this I am reminded of the movie "Blazing Saddles" - specifically the scene in the church where the schoolmarm reads the letter she wrote to the Governor protesting the new *black* sherrif.
If you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about - if not explanations are pointless.
You know, this talk of chaplains in the military makes me think of super-humans in black power armour and skull masks, who bash people to death while reciting litanies of hate to inspire their comrades to similar feats of slaughter.

Well, as military chaplains, they share the common desire to ensure that our troops have a place to worship and someone to talk to about religious matters.
This isn't a school of theology, it's a school for "how to ensure that the people of your faith in the armed forces are receiving your spiritual and emotional support."
They were both indoctrinated into a selfish, egotistical, and exclusionary cult as children.
They both believe in divine magic.
They both believe in the efficacy of prayer despite all evidence to the contrary.
They are both, to some degree, obsessed with death.

Goodness, gracious, no, that smacks of tolerance you know. Gosh, we can't have that, to admit that we have humane qualities, what a calamity. Big no there, it doesn't seem to involve being a programmed jerk and is certainly not Biblical. And, I don't know what you were thinking there, but you almost sound as though you are educated and, God have mercy on us all, sane.
Well, if they're both moderates who advocate love over hate, they'd have plenty in common... and, of course, fundies like you have plenty in common with the extremists.

Most military chaplains, maybe . There's a growing chunk of them, though, especially fundamentalist Christians, who join the military as chaplains specifically for the purpose of forced conversion. (They also like to whine about how oppressed they are when they aren't allowed to conduct viciously sectarian prayers during events with required attendance -- not that they're disciplined when they ignore those rules, of course.) It's particularly bad in the Air Force.

Because if these three huge groups of religious zealots realise that they believe pretty similar things, they'll learn to COMBINE forces and that's the whole world population of athiests fucked!

Like they said in the article; the soldiers fight side by side, then the religious officiants ought to be able to work side by side.
