Even the idiots biology is way off. Yes a 12 year old might be able to conceive, but the risks injury or death during labor are appealingly high.
If anything its more proof that we are not designed, that a diet high in dairy can cause a girl to become fertile before she has grown enough to safely deliver a child.
Plus there are a lot of other things the bible fails to denounce, like slaver for instance.

OR... maybe it's because when we first EVOLVED into what we are today, humans didn't live past the age of 20ish, so having a baby at 12 was normal. Back when life was very different, and survival for yourself and your species was a struggle, and your main focus.
Now it would be physically and emotionally scarring for both the mother and the child, since most mothers that young have a lot of complications.
Oh, not to mention the fact that there has been a trend in the past years of earlier onset of menstruation. Some people think it's due to hormones in meat. So the average age hasn't always been the same. Do you really think this is because god wants little girls to have babies?

There was a recent story about a child bride who died from internal bleeding due to being raped. What about the trauma that comes from undeveloped girls trying to give birth? Ever heard of fistulas? Ever heard of a narrow pelvis?
