[On a new Austrian law against animal cruelty] I thought I read somewhere that Hitler was a champion of animal rights? I have a problem with animal enforcers driving around in patrol cars. One particular network shows them responding with lights and sirens through residential neghiborhoods, they carry guns, and arrest people and put them in jail. I thought jail was for the murders, pedophiles, arsonist, rape, etc. I work with these people every nite in a correctional setting. I believe this is new age humanisim at work. The animals have the same rights as we do, reducing us to nothing more than the animals and not what we were created in HIS image.

Hitler was a vegetarian because he had a problem with perpetual gas. He also had some interesting prescription medications.

Are you seriously trying to say that torturing creatures that were created (either by God or via selective breeding, depending on who you ask) to be our servants and companions is something that shouldn't be a big deal? I'm sorry, I need to take a second before I say something I regret.
Okay, now let's talk: how does this make sense to you? Yes, people go to jail for things like arson, rape, pedophilia, etc., but they also can go to jail for things like shoplifting, or vandalism, or even starting a bar fight.
Don't you <i>dare</i> try to argue that slipping a Mars bar into your pocket and walking out of the store with it is a greater offense than running a dogfighting ring, because there's no way you'll come out of that argument looking like the good guy.
