What is this thing with you and organized religon? You keep referring back to it when no one brings it up. Did someone drop you in the baptistry when you were a child or did they lock the Sunday School room so you could not come in because you were eating peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor? To answer your question above the story is from the Bible and it has notheing to do with organized religon. As I mentioned before, true Christanity is not a religon. It is a relationship with the living God... Now you know something you never knew before. Ever the wiser.

If I'm ever in an argument with a fundie and they pull this crap, I'm going to start pointing out that if they are in a "relationship with God" they are being seriously abused by their so-called partner. How else do you describe a relationship where one party demands that the other one follow all their rules without question, not have any relationships outside of their own, treats the other like they are a vastly inferior being not worthy of life, and uses blatant threats to keep the whole thing going?

Funny that they define "relationship" in a way that one can't recognize from anything we've ever experienced as a real relationship.

For example, I have a relationship with my girlfriend. It's a two-way communication channel. We know each other and know of each others' preferences.
